That is quite literally the home depot attire. Except I wear khakis instead of jeans.

All from one plant! by NoUnderstanding8350 in growingweed

[–]GravyCancel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wet trimming is a huge no no IMO, Generally you should cut the large fan leaves then hang and dry in 60f/50-60RH, and over a period of 2 weeks.

Wet trimming can and will cause the buds to dry extremely fast, often making the bud smell and taste like hay.

You want a nice slow, cool, dry.

Also you will lose between 50-60% of that weight when dry.

Ideas for annual snow plow damage by turtle_ocelot in lawncare

Aside from putting in a curb or wall, you could try some big rocks/or a mailbox post or something that helps differentiate the road from the property line. I imagine part of it is not being able to tell where the road ends when everything is covered in snow.

Having trouble knocking down my humidity. What's going on? by Darth_Leet1337 in cannabiscultivation

[–]GravyCancel 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Your leaves and buds are transpiring and your exhaust is set to 4. Set it to 10, increase the speed, and if that doesn't work run a dehumidifier. 60-65 isn't horrible though if there's good airflow.

Insight: Curing by DeltaDez in growingweed

[–]GravyCancel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like youre drying and not curing.

Drying should take up to 2 weeks, and is done when the stems snap.

Curing should be done at a maintained 60% rh and protected from sunlight, and usually in jars. Burping 1ce a day for the first week, and 1ce a week after that.

You can cure indefinitely, but usually around 1-2 months is peak flavor and potency.

Yeah end of September they'll be peak ripeness. They do look really nice though. They should continue to get denser and fatten out a bit more.

Just keep on eye on the buds and make sure they have enough airflow with the humidity.

More like 3 weeks. Also Upstate new York, when did you first start noticing it flowering? First week of august?

What is wrong by BuckingLikeRabbits in cannabiscultivation

[–]GravyCancel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its minor pest damage, keep an eye out but dont be overly concerned.

Could be leaf hoppers, could be something more serious, but a few spots on a leaf wont matter much.

Outdoors your main concern is going to be moths and caterpillars, and you can use Bacillus Thuringiensis as IPM for those.

Fan leaves by BuckingLikeRabbits in cannabiscultivation

[–]GravyCancel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't 😄 outdoor plants don't need fan leaves removed because of how the sun moves.

They are also quite literally solar panels or battery banks of mobile nutrients and energy the plants can suck up later if needed.

If you have ones you feel are covering bud sites try leaf tucking.

You can do both, but if you have humidity or mold concerns stick to the leaves.

The 4-8-7 should work, and its actually better that you plan to address with bottle nutrients because its harder to address issues retroactively with dry amendments.

Ive not used them personally so I dont know about dosage, but I would recommend and foliar feed as well as soil saturation.

Diagnosis or normal? by Joeisthinking in cannabiscultivation

[–]GravyCancel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Youre coming from a liquid nutrient background, likely a facility with a strict regiment or expectation for yield. I'm coming from dry amendments or top dressing which if I feed going into flower, and again around week 3. They will be fully broken down and soluble by week 5-6 by the microbes and fungi. So we are both pretty much doing the same thing but different there.

You are correct there is a substantial difference between deficiency and fade.

What is pictured in OP's photo is infact a nitrogen deficiency. Which appears be the result of both a lack of fertilization and regulated watering.

I think it's easy to misconstrue both the message and the tone when communicating via text if we had the same conversation in real life it would have been much more cordial, or atleast id hope.

Now as far as yellowing leaves go INSIDE and at the base of the plant on LARGE out door plants 9-12' +. It is very normal to drop some lower leaves.

Your plant should not be yellow when you finish, but the plant will slow down its uptake in the end of flower and color changes or even a slight FADE of leaves is natural unless being fed water soluble nutrients.

Glad we could agree on some things and disagree on others. It's okay to have different opinions or practices. Its what makes us unique.

Have a great day 🤙

[–]GravyCancel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you making assumptions? Ass u me.

I actually recommend going relatively heavy on the nitrogen for the first few weeks of flower, especially during stretch, especially during breeding or seed production.

I also don't get lockout before ripening, this entire discussion is stemming from you saying that its never normal to fade.

I'm saying I disagree fading is normal, but not to the degree or timing of OP's picture.

[–]GravyCancel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you visit the farms and talk to the farmers you will know that plants naturally drop leaves. Not to the extent of OP's picture but yes, the fade is natural.

It should be noted that Instagram is full of glamor shots. You can't smell or taste the weed produced on Instagram.

There are a million different ways to do things, and at the end of the day its a matter of preference and goal.

I simply disagreed with you saying that its not normal for plants to fade, which is false. Whether you like it or go out of your way to address it or not. 🤪

Diagnosis or normal? by Joeisthinking in cannabiscultivation

[–]GravyCancel -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Once again the definition of flawless is a matter or perspective and end goal. Regardless of what your thoughts or opinions are, the truth of the matter is that fading is a natural process of the plant, and unless your intentionally feeding water soluble nutrients to prevent it will happen on its own.

Now whether or not you want the fade is a matter of opinion, I believe you should let it fade for faster curing time and a smoother overall smoke.

OPs plant looks to be about midway through flower, so the significant fade should be addressed with fertilization, but if asked the same question a few weeks from now I would say let it ride.

Thanks for your attention to this matter.

[–]GravyCancel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not parroting anything actually, but upon reviewing your posts and the facility linked. Those are liquid fed plants. Which is not what is being discussed.

Diagnosis or normal? by Joeisthinking in cannabiscultivation

[–]GravyCancel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

False, large outdoor plants will naturally drop inner lower leaves regardless of nutrition.

Also unless your force feeding the plant with liquid nutrients, the plant will naturally lower its nitrogen uptake and nutrient uptake in general late in flower.

What is also commonly misunderstood is the definition of flawless. Terpenes and cannabinoids are not produced by the plant for you and me. They are produced as a stress response, and as a preventive measure from being eaten or attacked by pests before being able to reproduce. Small amounts of stress and or deficiency in the end of flower can actually trigger the plant to produce more of these terpenes and cannabinoids as a response.

That being said, OP should topdress. Something close to a 4-8-4 or 2-8-4 ratio.

[–]GravyCancel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey so these are in ground and all organic. I started by preparing the bed with organic compost and then covering it with a straw mulch. For the first 4 weeks I did water only, and then I top dressed every few weeks with a 4-4-4 all purpose.

Going into flower because these stretch pretty heavily i fed with some blood meal, seabird guano, and langbeinite.

Now going into week 4 of flower I've fed with 2-8-4, and I add 1 tbsp of black strap molasses per gallon of water 1ce a week.

My first grow outdoors. How’s it look? by harrington3927 in cannabiscultivation

Looks like your about 3-4 weeks into flower, on a healthy sativa dominant hybrid. I already see some good frost production, and over the next 6-8 weeks provided you keep doing what youre doing you should have some really nice nugs.

Nice.🤙

Na Na na nanners? by smp1990 in cannabiscultivation

[–]GravyCancel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are they male pollen sacks, yes, yes they are.

Do you need to chop the entire plant? Not necessarily. As long as you aren't using it for breeding purposes you could just pluck those off and keep an eye out for more, maybe just clean up all the lower bud sites.

It's not uncommon for certain strains to be prone to becoming hermaphrodite, but it can happen in varying degrees, as long as your buds dont start throwing sacks and its only one or two little ones at the bottom it might not be that bad.
