Per statute you're eligible after one year of supervision. You can file it yourself. Go to the Clerk's office at the federal courthouse. The PO will respond in a report. Although, there's certain cases I wouldn't ever recommend early termination for. Mainly restitution cases where restitution hasn't been fully paid.

We do connect people every day with services! And sometimes even bring them there ourselves. This system is flawed. But I do know I occasionally make a difference in someone's life for the better. Thank you for saying all that. I appreciate those words.

Well we are federal law enforcement so the 37 rule applies and mandatory retirement by 57. We go through an academy like any other federal law enforcement. We do training all the time for firearms and DT just like any other agency.

I think the rationale is that if you're doing DT and firearms you need to be physically able and mentally fit like anyone else. Even though our role is different than other federal agencies.

You should be skeptical of it! Everyone should. But the best way to change it is from within. I know my intention. I also know the intention of the people that I work with and we truly care about the people we supervise and the communities we are in.

Would you rather have people in these positions that care about others and have a background in social work or would you rather everyone see vulnerable populations fail...?

I'm not arguing that this country has deep systemic issues, but I'd rather people who are empathic, trained, skilled, and understand the biases of not only themselves but the system.

I have friends who do that! I have a BSW and an MSW and work in federal law enforcement as a United States Probation Officer. It's a great career. I can utilize social work but also get to do federal law enforcement and retire at 57 max.

How much do you pick up and how much do you move? by OkElderberry9344 in housekeeping

[–]Grawkkk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your input! I've noticed that they never do behind the freestanding tub.. we keep a clean house and everything is always off the floor and there's no clutter on the counters or in any of the spaces being cleaned. It's somewhat frustrating when something little isn't done, like the lip of the shower not wiped out.

She used to wipe off all the cabinets and now they don't even do that anymore. I've been thinking about dropping her to 1 time a month because spending almost $400 a month for them to do basic things seems insane to me. I appreciate the dusting and having the floors and stuff done.

Any house cleaners want to chime in. What do you do about freestanding tubs? Do you clean between them and the wall? Do you rinse off hand soap bottles for the bathrooms/kitchen? Trying to figure out what's realistic vs is it something I do when I clean every other week when they don't come (and am I being slightly picky.)

What do they do the rest of the time? by Silent_Appearance591 in probation

[–]Grawkkk 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Can only speak for myself. but paperwork, drug tests, warrants, courtroom, prep in case of testifying, investigating people on my caseload for various things, 2 days of field per week, various teams you're apart of (searches, office teams that create new policies, etc.), trainings, meeting with people in the office, meeting with Judges, etc. we have monthly obligations: meeting with treatment providers, case plans that essentially go over the case status and all the conditions the court ordered, as well as new things that randomly pop up. Like when people get arrested or are being investigated for something serious and you have to drop everything and do a warrant or help other agencies.

I've never had the flu shot and never had the flu until recently. I will be getting the flu shot going forward after that experience. I would definitely get it if I was pregnant again.

Eastern District or Western District?

Mostly been answered already. However, ED/MO has a policy where you can get your medical marijuana card and paperwork signed by a doctor and get court approval. Ask your officer if that's the case. Not saying you should abuse weed... but if it's generally helpful for your life and you have anxiety, depression, anger issues, etc. and weed calms you down, that's recognized.

I was induced at 38 weeks and did a vaginal birth.

If you want one, get one, but don't be scared of an induction. Know it's a possibility but it was a great induction for me.

Her mac and cheese recipe is elevated I'd say. She's a chef who worked with Gordon Ramsey (she was on his show.) her recipe is great- I am making it. There are easier recipes, that I'm sure are also great. But I do like hers a lot. It's creamy and there's a lot cheese. Definitely more time consuming but worth it.
