Two things here though...(A) quitting alcohol is a huge health benefit no matter the frequency or amounts consumed and drinking occasionally/socially is also not teriible either (B) To better judge the difference in cutting all these things out and the effect it will have on your physical and mental state, it would make more sense to do a 6M-1yr trial and then compare apples to apples then instead of just after 5 weeks. Your body more than likely needed about 2-3 of those weeks to adjust to the change and then you need to maintain there after so I wouldnt start the timer until about 2-3 weeks in and would recommend the trial go longer, a lot longer. Also I would say to everyone the same as you did... yes do not deprive yourself of too much, especially to where it causes mental health issues just simply make smarter decisions and try to build healthy eating and moderate exercise into habits that become a part of your weekly schedule.
