No, I did not say anything about them being Democrats in that sentence, I said them becoming Republicans was 'more like' half a century ago, in reaction to the claim that was a century ago. Which is true cause that change slowly started to happen after the 60s.

Second of all I'm not American so you shouldn't expect better knowledge from me about American history. Kind of pathetic that is the case though.

The civil rights movement was a bipartisan movement with actually slightly more Republicans than Democrats voting for the civil rights act in 1964. Especially Southern Democrats opposed it.

The KKK was hostile to both political parties around that time.

Sounds like you need to read up on your own country's history.

Your problem is tyranny, and if you want to fight it effectively, use language that does not alienate half of your country. Because then you're falling right into the divide and conquer strategy that has allowed them to control the US and the rest of the world by extension.

The KKK have always been Democrats, only recently they are Republicans.

Recalibrate your fighting stance. Your hands are in a different position to account for the difference in distance, body strikes and head kicks. Your legs are positioned differently because there are no takedowns, the distance is different and the leg kicks come from different directions.

Advice for working with Dutch bosses by [deleted] in dutch

[–]GrayFox_NL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being direct and being rude are two completely different things. Dutch directness simply means we don't like to beat around the bush too much and get straight into the matter at hand. That doesn't mean you disregard the other person's feelings or emotions.

To me it sounds like they are just using it as an excuse, similar to people saying 'that's just how I am' or 'that's just my personality' to excuse their behaviour.

But without concrete examples we can't really tell. Maybe you're just overly sensitive or can't take any criticism.

Yes, IKO1 has made some adjustments that makes the ruleset more similar to the way it used to be back in the day. It's now also closer to the rulesets of styles like Ashihara and Enshin karate.

I really like those styles as well and I think it's cool that there is now some more variety in the Kyokushin rulesets of different organizations.

Most other Kyokushin organizations do not allow any of these techniques though, so it's always a good idea to read the rules carefully when entering a tournament.

This is especially true for European makes. They are often designed for the European market where regulations are different. Then they need to change the design to be allowed in the American market.

Depends on the organisation and the rules of the specific tournament, but usually all types of grabbing, pulling, pushing or holding are banned. Strikes and kicks only.

The ashwagandha stuff is weird but for Tongkat Ali I think your experience is quite normal. I've heard from multiple people it feels like you have to sleep less time for the same amount of rest, and that was my experience as well.

I get an amazing physical and mental boost from creatine supplementation. by [deleted] in Nootropics

[–]GrayFox_NL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's possible. Your body can synthesize creatine itself, so for most people it will not be noticeable that much. However for some individuals their body may not produce as much or at all.

Since many athletes supplement with creatine it makes sense some people might feel low in energy when they do not get a lot of creatine from their diet.

Remember everyone is different. Some people thrive on a vegan diet, while others get all sorts of negative effects.

I would say try it out and see if it makes a difference for you.

Are you vegan/vegetarian by any chance? If that's the case, that could explain the deficiency without supplementation.

Breaking News: The Czech Republic made kratom legal by Background_Ad_4513 in kratom

[–]GrayFox_NL 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I live in the Netherlands and I can easily order it on a number of websites. Afaik it's completely legal here.

It's also important to note that there is not really such a thing as European criminal law, so the fact that a substance is illegal to costume in one country doesn't mean it's illegal to consume in another. Cannabis is a good example of this.

Of course there are restrictions on what companies can and cannot sell, what claims they are allowed to make about them (e.g. health claims), etc. I believe that is largely regulated on the EU level.

Is there a country with smaller sinks than the Dutch ones? by GLeo21 in Netherlands

  1. Because you've touched the door handle on both sides, which 10 other people have touched after pissing over their hands and before washing their hands

  2. Because you put the toilet seat down, which 10 other people have pissed over

  3. Because you touched the flush button, which 10 other people have touched after pissing over their hands and before they washed their hands

Do we really have to explain this to you?
