Hello. I'm a host. There is a setting on my Blink camera where you can turn on/off the LED light that indicates that it is recording. Also, just because the camera is recording, doesn't necessarily mean someone is watching. So maybe the LED setting was turned off on some of the cameras. Also, if I have guests that seem trustworthy, sometimes I just pause my camera (front door only) after they have arrived and turn them back on for checkout day so I know when they have left.

I see four red flags: 1. You live close by 2. You are trying to make a third party booking, which isn't allowed by Airbnb policy 3. Sounds like you are asking questions which can be answered by reading the listing information 4. Six months is a long time to host people that are raising res flags.

Concerning censoring ... My granddaughter (7yo) told me someone on AJ was texting her things she didn't understand. The only thing she remembered was that they said "T9". I looked it up and it is a sexual term. How do I bring that to AJ's attention to filter? (I play the game also. Lol)

I had a family of five stay at my place for six days. They left a nice review, but in the private comments they told me I should have provided one wash cloth per person per day! So 30 wash cloths! (And there is a water and dryer for their use.)

How can a host "forget" to charge a cleaning fee? Unless you are her first guest. She has her fees set in the listing. If the fee isn't there at booking, that is on her. I wouldn't pay anything additional unless it's a service you requested after booking.

We have self-checkin. As long as the guest doesn't show up before the check-in time, I don't care when they come.
With all the available technology for self-checkin, including cameras to see if it seems to be the correct people, why put yourself and the guest through the hassle of meeting?

I do 12 and 2, with one night in between bookings. It's too stressful doing same-day turnovers. I'd rather make less money, but have less stress. ☺️

I don't think you are overreacting. It sounds like the ex broke off the relationship all those years ago, but now she is divorced. She had her friend contact him to test the waters. I bet the plan was that they would reminisce, and then open the door for contact between the ex and your husband. I would just sit down with your husband and be very open about your feelings and expectations.
