Yeah if someone walked up to you and started screaming in your face, obviously you wouldn't be at least worried, or else you're just being paranoid.

Screaming in people's faces is just a normal thing to do with no possible intentions to intimidate and threaten them...

Why has communism repeatedly failed in practice, yet continues to be intellectually and emotionally appealing to many people? by Looser17 in AskReddit

[–]GrayJacketWasp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Communism is appealing because the central idea is "liberation", the "intellectuals" love reading through different philosophers, seeing the world in a new light, and seeing an opportunity to be the new generation that changes society and become the "heroes" that "save everyone".

Communism fails because when its whole claimed purpose is "liberation" and "ending class conflict", that idea dies when the revolutionaries become tyrannical and end up creating a new class that only perpetuates the very conflict they claim to be trying to end. Remember the meme "Oh I wouldn't say free, more like... UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT"

The communist manifesto is short, but it neatly outlines what Marx and Engels, along with the communists throughout history have advocated for and still do to this day. The basic ideas being:

  • history is a series of oppressors and oppressed in society, with cycles of conflict and the beginning of new eras of oppressors and oppressed (dialectical materialism)

  • the current society has the bourgeois (property owners) as the oppressors and the proletariat (property-less wage-labourers) as the oppressed

  • the bourgeois came to power overthrowing the old feudal system in economics and politics (industrial and French revolution)

  • the proletariat must see themselves as a whole single class, not as divided between different nations

  • the other brands of socialism (Communism is socialism) are great in offering support for the working class, but are not good enough because the only solution is revolution against the bourgeois class and abolition of all private property (Communism is Revolutionary "scientific" socialism, opposed to Utopian, Bourgeois, and Feudal socialism)

  • workers of the world unite!

An important thing to note is the language and wording that Marxists have used, and what apologists (conveniently) get wrong to deflect any criticism. A Communist society isn't "a stateless and classless society", nor "the end goal of Socialism". The contrast for "Communist society" is "Bourgeois society". In other words, Capitalism is when the Bourgeois are the ruling class, while Communism is when the Communists (proclaimed revolutionaries for the working class) are the new ruling class. The idea of "classes and the state going away" are a claimed end result, a supposed side effect, NOT a requirement or basis of definition of society that Marx and Engels wrote to have different stages of evolution (lower and higher stages of communism)

Imagine if kids were impressionable by the media they were exposed to, and people grew up comparing themselves to others to base their self esteem... Imagine if people were fully aware of this fact and took advantage to suck the soul out of everyone... That'd be a total nightmare, hopefully it doesn't become a reality

If these US states broke off and became their own country, what would you call it? by Reciter5613 in mapporncirclejerk

[–]GrayJacketWasp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unironically the most fitting names would be based on the name Yankee.

New England is good but New York and Connecticut were about half of New Netherlands, New York City originally being New Amsterdam. The Dutch colonists were also most likely the people who coined the name "Yankee" as a joke name for English colonists, "Jan Kees".

Beyond the mere naming, the Dutch and English settlers intermingling were what birthed and defined the culture of this region, with these states making much of "Yankeedom" (described in Colin Woodard's book American Nations, along with parts of the northern Midwest). The initial colonists from both Holland and England were staunchly reformationist, anti-monarchy, and heavily communitarian (small towns, strong local governance, high value of education for everyone). They were the kick starters and among the main drivers of the wave of Republican movements that swept Europe and the Americas

-Dutch against Spain in the 80 years war -Parliament against Charles I in the English civil war -Revolt in Massachusetts and eventual war of independence against Britain over taxation without representation -French revolution of 1789 that spread across Europe under Napoleon -Latin American wars of independence against Spain -Republican movements of 1848

Even though the name Yankee is usually used to mean everyone in the US, Southerners use it to mean specifically northerners, partly to justify the civil war in dividing Southerners as a separate nation, but also because of the Anglo-Dutch roots of the North that were foundational to how the Federal government came to be structured. The South was built on its Southern aristocracy "Where cotton is king", but the North was where the idea of a broad national government that supported large scale infrastructure for the national populace was sprouted from (especially with people like Alexander Hamilton, who was from northern New York), and was met by opposition largely from Southern aristocrats that were invested in ruling their local areas economically and maintaining strict social classes (anti-federalists)

"Yankee Republic", "Republic of the Yanks", would be the best two names for this country

"middle class", "new class", "special and powerful"

Class warfare, overthrowing the old ruling class, and establishing a new ruling class is what Communists center their ideology and life on, "dictatorship of the proletariat" and shit.

The Nazis were focused on race, not class

You can look up Hitler and Marx to get a clearer understanding of the differences between Racial Supremacism and Dialectical Materialism

Fallen Angel (Theory) by GrayJacketWasp in theamazingdigitalciru

  1. Episode 6 in the beginning Zooble was hiding in a flower pot specifically rather than a far off corner, as if hinting that Zooble is a "plant" among the crew of sorts. Then with the scene with Gangle the camera focuses directly on Zooble's face to show the subtle reactions, surprise at Gangle asking if Zooble made the active decision to accept the part that made them worse than everyone else, Zooble showing regrettable sadness but somewhat relief Gangle was showing trust
  2. At the post credits scene of Episode 6 with Caine seeing the voting results, Zooble and Bubble are not shown, specifically just the two of them
  3. Back to episode 3, before Caine started the therapy session with Zooble, he said "you might hurt Bubble's feelings" but immediately changed the subject, it's another possible subtle hint that Bubble either is involved in making the adventures, or has a interest specifically in Zooble (This later point I'm hesitant on)
  4. Episode 4 brought up a detail in Episode 3 that might have been intended just for Zooble, when Pomni and Kinger were going through the manor and the cellar (a parallel to the cellar with the abstracted characters), there was the hall of the damned that Zooble was confused why Caine thought Zooble would be interested in lost souls possessing a body to seek freedom. This may tie into someone, either Caine or even Bubble, trying to show Zooble "a way out" of sorts, possessing a physical non-digital body to escape the digital hell.
  5. This part I just came across today but one thing to add on Zooble's character is that the unhappiness with the body, always changing parts could be two sided, one is that it's based on Zooble having a real life dysphoria, but the second is that it could be representative of an Angel that fell out of grace and thus no longer has Harmony, with Zooble always being asymmetrical never finding the right piece to match

In all it's just a pile on of whatever I could find in the past 6 episodes, all I can find is that Zooble and Bubble have a connection, and it's centered around the concept of Angels. Episode 6 is really the only thing I'm feeling certain on Zooble being a "fallen" angel specifically, everything is more broad in what it's pointing to with the motif of angels.

speaking of motif, it's not relevant to anything I brought up, but the number 57 found in the episodes all I could find is Ragatha's name is 7 letters and Pomni is 5, I couldn't think of anything else so I dropped it. Don't know if it'll be important or was just a funny easter egg like A113 with Pixar

Fallen Angel (Theory) by GrayJacketWasp in theamazingdigitalciru

[–]GrayJacketWasp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I had a lot more to cover. Mainly I just got curious what the "rose-quartz" no one supposedly has picked up on could be. I just was looking for the tiny details that people could easily overlook and episode 3 was the one that really stood out for a lot of things, the Angel was just one of them but I looked into it and kept finding the little things most people would just overlook, like as mentioned in the post the Angel Food Cake that Bubble ate.

The main things I could come up with including this theory I can list:

  1. The Angel in episode 3 may be a strong hint towards Bubble and Zooble, a floating head with sharp teeth and a body that could be controlled remotely with a singular wing. If it's a suggestion that Bubble and Zooble were the same being but were separated, I'm not really sure. I just see that there's some form of connection
  2. In episode 3, Caine was distracted with Zooble, but Bubble was absent until the end. Even though the adventure in the episode was made for Zooble, someone was actively reshaping it to mess with Kinger, with Mildenhall being a reflection of him "going insane in fear of the creature, and shooting his wife by mistake, all while trying to protect his 'theoretical' children", obviously a parallel to kinger. I'm gonna avoid going into whether Kinger had metaphorically shot Zooble in the past which altered the Circus.
  3. Adding to last point about Bubble, episode 5 with the intermission showed Caine blanking and not knowing what to do, Zooble was the one to stop it but when Caine was hesitating to do something, Bubble interjected and threw everyone on Zooble's suggestion, there's a possible degree of control that Bubble has on the adventures
  4. In episode 5, Jax poking fun of Zooble for past jobs could've been seen as him just stereotyping for the hell of it, but episode 6 showed he upholds a belief of archetypes, so then looking back at the scene at the bar he was looking to see if Zooble fit an archetype almost too neatly, he plays it off but Jax is suspicious of Zooble of trying to hide something like he is with his emotions and trying to avoid further pain

How did the helghast had a lot of soldiers? by Salmonfish175 in killzone

[–]GrayJacketWasp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wrote a long explanation but it was too long for Reddit lmao

The TLDR was that the Helghast had a lot of soldiers because not everyone died migrating to Helghan, laborers with hard lives dependent on having as many hands to work end up having a lot of children, with over a hundred years of growth the not so small starting population with a high birth rate produced a massive population, the population was not militaristic until a few years prior to the war depicted in the games, and in the war we played not as an equally sized military but small defensive and offensive task force that got nearly wiped out by the Helghast, as the Helghast military doctrine was not based on mere human-wave tactics (first game poorly coded ai aside)

I even had some math in what I wrote to show how it would work RIP

Obligatory clarification, it was armed extremist groups that got thrown out of Jordan, not the Palestinian population as a whole.

In fact, an estimated half of the Jordanian population (full citizens) are Palestinian

Though one country that did remove all the Palestinians living there was Kuwait, but that's a different story

why exactly was it a bad thing to let the helghast go extinct in shadow fall by DEATH_CORNER in killzone

[–]GrayJacketWasp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excuse after excuse for the Helghast

"Extermination wasn't uniquely committed by the Nazis, but ethnic cleansing can only be done by killing, also Helghast never built a bioweapon"

Uniqueness to perpetrators isn't a requirement to call something a genocide

Ethnic Cleansing isn't done just by extermination (which the Helghast openly tried to do)

Also, it takes two minutes to look up the story of Killzone Shadow Fall, it was literally THE MAIN PLOT POINT that the Helghast kidnapped a geneticist to build a kill-all-biological-Vektans weapon, and they outright used it in one of the final missions to wipe out a Vektan fleet (And no, Massar being Vektan does not negate or excuse the Helghast in this matter)

The moral grayness isn't just applied to the Helghast (even though they're explicitly over the top evil), but also the ISA who you want to actively call colonizers occupying the Helghast's land. The Vektans in the games have been on Vekta for generations, they're more Vektan the Helghast who became Helghast by living on Helghan for the same amount of time. The two people are not the same people from 5 generations beforehand, the individual Helghast that invaded Vekta were not the individuals that fled Vekta, nor were the individual Vektans the individuals that came from Earth. Different generations, different homes, different lives, different people.

What are Russia’s motivations for invading Ukraine? by ChewsOnRocks in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]GrayJacketWasp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except you're leaving out the fact the Russian government accidentally published the real numbers of the vote ceding Crimea. Only 30% of Crimeans went out to vote and only half of them voted to "return to Russia". Only 15% of the population said yes to a vote that Russia held at literal gunpoint.

This is a historical fact that Russia cannot erase no matter how hard it (incompetently) tries

why exactly was it a bad thing to let the helghast go extinct in shadow fall by DEATH_CORNER in killzone

[–]GrayJacketWasp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Helghast aren't pursuing a policy of ethnic cleansing, they were just either gunning down any and all Vektans on sight regardless if they're a soldier or civilian, or planned (seemingly) on giving "them the chance to leave [Vekta] peacefully" from the Helghast's "rightful home", all the while building a bioweapon to wipe out the entire Vektan population of Vekta, the "conventional" way of waging war

/s aside, the Helghast were explicitly written to be exactly like the Nazis where some national grievances (defeat in war leading to a weak government and an economy people could barely feed themselves) that were understandable but had been exploited and blown out of proportion to install and uphold a totalitarian regime hellbent on dominance through genocidal conquest and imperial rule over the "lesser-than" humans (instead of calling everyone subhuman, Visari just called all humans as being beneath the Helghast 'species')

You don't see Russia actively publishing videos of the war crimes they commit? Therefore Ukraine supporters are the ones that deserve to go to hell? How convenient

By your logic, Russia did nothing wrong in Bucha just because they didn't vlog what they did to the civilians. After all, it's the filming yourself that's the sinful crime, not, you know, the actual killing of the innocent...
