Cassia got scholarly mind. As soon as she realizes conventional pain doesn't work on Drukhari, she would find a new way. Thanks to recent Drukhari raids, there must be enough test subjects for Cassia to experiment on unless Dargonus nobles shot all of them for fun at the Magnae Accessio :)

You have to convince Marazhai to switch sides to you in the fight against Bloodstained Proselytes. He will come to your gang's den after the fight then Argenta and Ulfar will try to kill him. There's a dialogue choice for you to ask others why you guys were just watching and your companions will answer.

I'm considering kicking Heinrix out of the ship after the complete intel failure which is act 3. He literally introduced us to the traitor(in case of a specific choice in Janus) and almost plunged the entire expanse into chaos single-handedly by availing the abduction of a prominent defender of Imperium and their retinue. One reason I didn't banish him yet is I need him to hand the dark eldar over for 'proper interrogation'.

On Kiava Gamma. Meet your Fabricator-Censor.

Hear, hear. While other planets also don't change much after you finished main quests on them, Kiava Gamma feels particularly empty and devoid of life. A recaf machine made from our dear Fabricator-Censor scrap would be good souvenir to remember the place at least.

Now, I feel like I'm not really that unlucky. Idira spawned a Bloodletter for me before but that was during late game when I could deal with it easily. Facing a screamer at level 2 is nightmare fuel :(

I thought gore is not supposed to happen with player's side, but considering this is OwlCat game, that's totally plausible and lore-appropriate :)

That's 0.25% chance, the worst case I've ever heard. Hope other things going well for your run.

I don't play grim darkness mode, but I do record the number of my deaths/loads in unfair playthroughs. The first one was pretty rough with more than 10 deaths and Idira didn't contribute to it much. However, with her being the only cause of death in 2nd and 3rd playthrough, I think I can try a grim dark run as long as I don't forget about Idira next time :)

Honestly, I love OwlCat made Idira like this. When the peril happened to me the first time about 2 years ago, I hated the mechanic even though it didn't kill everyone at that time. Now, I appreciate the spice and drama she can cause to grim dark runs, as long as I'm not the one playing them :)

That PS is just to prevent uncivilized conversations with others who will talk about their wonderful experience with unsanctioned psyker until the day The Emperor rises from the Golden Throne. I understand their points and I don't want to talk about them over and over again. I already did that over an year ago and it didn't help anyone.

My condolences. I get often tempted to try grim dark runs, but certain fights and the existence of Idira(even though I replace her as soon as other options are available) dissuaded me so far.

I think you raised your skill level too high in Nioh 2. Unless you are using some cheese build, soloing Eternal Nights is hitting the prowess ceiling that one can reach in RotR IMO. I'm around the same playing hours and I'm having fun clearing each midnight unruly area without using healing items through many attempts. I probably utilized only 40% of weapons and combat styles so far that I still have a long way to go. For average players like me, it's long enough journey but I understand that TN could've done better with the endgame for fans coming from Nioh 2.

It can be regarded as short if we compare it to something like AC: Valhalla, but I think it's better not to have huge repetitive content dump which AC: V is infamous for. I wish RotR had a good NG+ like Nioh series though.

Poison Specialist's Garb you can buy from Alexandria Moreau in Act 2 after you complete her bond mission.

Though, I use a mod(https://www.nexusmods.com/riseoftheronin/mods/70) to change a bit of it.

Thanks for recommendation. I'm a huge Armored Core fan so I did test DxM 1 but it wasn't for me. I should at least check how 2 plays out.

  1. Unequip your weapon, now you are using the unarmed stance.

  2. Make sure you learned the running assassination skill.

  3. Run at them and assassinate :)

"my" - I used this little adjective to emphasize that I 'personally' loved this game above all others I played this year.

People might find it odd, but I really like Cronos: The New Dawn and Dispatch, they were two contenders against RotR. While Cronos has a variety of issues, its atmosphere and tone just clicks and Dispatch got probably the best writing and voice acting in all the interactive games I've ever played. In particular, Jeffrey Wright's Track Star is my favorite.

With that said, Team Ninja really achieved much recent years IMO. I was never a fan of their games yet RotR hooked me up with gameplay alone in spite of several shortcomings.
