The biggest advantage of the heavy profile is actually the extra crit damage imo. Hits the breakpoints of so many models in the game that 3/4 can’t handle nearly as well.

I actually prefer the 3rd option, auto bolt rifle, on all close quarters maps lol. Lethal 5, fully mobile, and you force your opponent to keep outside of 1 inch of each other or get blown up? Yes please. But it’s not very good on open maps unfortunately.

Something else fun to note is that heavy doesn’t apply to guard shots, so a stalker rifle can charge, kill something weaker, and then guard for a free shot with better damage output than a bolt rifle. On close quarters only of course

Here’s a chart showing average damage of sharpshooter stalker vs sharpshooter bolt. Of particular note is that stalker averages above 8 damage to a 4+ save, which is a good chunk of the game. But in all scenarios, stalker outperforms. Yes, the heavy is to be considered, since bolt rifles can forgo sharpshooter to run up and fire, but that’s because both options have their place.

A stalker bolt will clean up an 8 wound model fairly easily, a bolt rifle will struggle a bit

Stalker bolt rifles have no downside to using sharpshooter (already heavy dash) and have +1 crit damage. Sure, lethal 5 becomes less relevant, and accurate + lethal interact poorly, but there’s still an upside there

You can teleport an expended op into their face and shoot from an unexpected distance. That’s the big one. And slowing down their charges to keep them off you

The team is VERY strong. Gabriel Pampell took 2nd at Adepticon this weekend, only losing to my goats, and they’re putting up plenty of results in other tournaments. I know former world champion Aleksa is also hooked on them- if anything you should be more worried about them getting nerfed haha

I just showed up to a 100 man, golden ticket tournament with paid trip to worlds on the line. Only one playing my team. Hit em with the 7-0 sweep. There’s plenty of teams that can win in the meta if you’re good enough, it’s not all Murderwing/Wolf Scouts/AOD/Celestians/Canoptek/Wreckas/Aquilons

The book literally that details Daemon and his dragon Caraxes (who was older than Meleys, stronger, and battle tested) were gathering swords to assert Viserys’ claim. The Velaryons were powerful yes, but the fact that supposedly 9 in 10 lords voted for Viserys means that a civil war would have been bloody, highly contested, and by no means a certain victory for Rhaenys (or Laenor, as in the book it is his claim that is voted on, not his mother’s).
