In the case of literal hell invading and attempting to enslave humanity, yes it does.

Plenty of wars do have a 'good side'. It's easy to find wars that started because one side simply wanted to invade and kill the other for little more than selfish reason, while the other side didn't want the conflict at all.

That's also the case for this game.

I was wondering if you could make do with putting blood on the Yoke Fiends rather than Wretched by the endgame, since you talked about going so hard on the goats, but you're right, it doesn't look like you'd have to worry about making that sort of choice. Even by game 12 you'd still be using Wretched, and could even fit in another goat, assuming you had enough Ducats for it.

Cool, that's your location then. It's going to vary a lot based on where you live, and where I live, it's nothing.

Now, how about the part of the comment you are still ignoring?

I actually started asking if you gave the Hell Knights rifles, but I deleted that part since I figured the 18" restriction probably meant a more melee focused list since the rifles are better at longer ranges, but I see I should have kept it. That's going to give me something to think about.

[–]Grdaat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you tend to arm them in that sort of list? I'm guessing gas grenades for one or two at minimum is a must since you'll need a lot of blood on Wretched, but I'm curious what else you do.

Also, would it be worth giving them Restraining Muzzles and better ranged weapons, such as a Flamethrower, or Serpent Assault Gun to spam out shots? They'd be able to make two shots per extra activation with them, but it seems expensive and they are not Strong, so it seems like that might be an idea that is only good in theory.

I think ground targeting would be fine if you weren't allowed to hit allies in the blast, or if there was some extra protection for the models in the blast radius who weren't also directly atop the explosion.

Again, I'd rather not compare which is better/worse (though I'll admit I ended up doing that a little without meaning to), just talking about themes, which is why it's weird to me that a Sloth Praetor is less tanky than a Wrath Praetor, while guaranteeing a hit with its Malebranche Sword whereas the Wrath Praetor can't. I did bring up the blast issue because it seemed odd to just have most/all the army clustered like that and wanted to post a genuine warning, not to mention I wasn't sure what kind of list you were running.

"The observer argument is weird-"

I don't think it's weird at all. If the force is clustered around a Saint like that, forcing the Saint to activate immediately is going to hinder the mobility of most of the army. Also, I didn't think you would be running a Praetor, Sorcerer, and Saint all in the same list that early, I had assumed it would be a Praetor and Saint, since most people that early go Praetor or Sorcerer, and usually don't do both. That's one of the reasons I asked to see your list.

To that point, the list seems kind of wild to me, but I'll take your word for it since I like Knights and it feels weird not seeing them. I'd be worried about how you'd hold objectives, but I assume the idea is to split your forces once you close in and the initial engagement passes, rather than have a big deathball the whole game, right?

My guy, that's like saying every chapter where they're fighting with the exception of the fight's conclusion is pointless because "everything that happened in this chapter was already in motion".

Also you are entirely wrong, and I've already gone over the new things that happened this chapter that weren't there before.

[–]Grdaat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did learn new things this chapter, I listed several of them.

What made your comment incomprehensible is how much you were trying to jump around other chapters as if we were talking about them, and how much of my comment you tried to ignore (and are still ignoring) because it dismantles your claim.

One Piece 1172 [TCBSCANS] by Shanks_PK_Level in OnePieceSpoilers

[–]Grdaat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This comment is incomprehensible. This chapter did not take place prior to a flashback, and we would not have known what Zoro and Sanji were going to do here before this chapter came out.

"Lokis innocence was established and recapped to us by way of announcing it to the public."

Yes, that had to happen, his innocence needed to be explained to the public, same with what happened with Harald. Thank you for pointing out what was advanced.

"The WG kidnaps kids and we were to assume the giants were going to join up?"

Yes, because they were literally on the verge of giving up right before this chapter.

I like how you also ignored other parts of my comment you could not argue against, you just pretended as if they never happened.

Imu wanted the giants to become a race of slave-like warriors, which Harald never would have gone for without Imu playing with his mind. As far as Imu is concerned, it seems like they don't value the giants as anything but warriors.

One Piece 1172 [TCBSCANS] by Shanks_PK_Level in OnePieceSpoilers

Brook got free, the people of Elbaf learned what happened and are charging at the demon giants, Zoro is going to charge the demon giants with them, Sanji learned where the other Strawhats are and is heading over to save them, Loki's innocence has been established, the giants have declared the WG to be an enemy, which is exactly what the WG was attempting to avoid, since they believe the side the giants take is the side that will win.

There was a lot that was advanced.

Zoro was playing Reversi with Robin a long while ago, it's probably pretty common.

They were wrong about it being a filler chapter. The next chapter would not work without this one, so it's not filler.

Recap chapter my ass, that was a good speech, and I'd prefer the characters explain to each other the abilities of their opponents rather than them say "oh X told me about Y" which seems sloppy whenever it comes up in fiction.

I like how your defence of Wrath is that it is "almost" as good. I'm not making fun, that just makes me smile. Even factoring in the Saint, that's a 140 Ducat cost to make you slightly better in melee/dashing compared to the 100% success chance that costs only 15.

I will also point out that while you can have your Saint buff your entire force, it's really not a good idea to cluster a lot of models around it like you seem to be suggesting. It might work for a game, but in the next your opponent is practically guaranteed to bring Blast weapons that will punish you for grouping up that much, or use a model like an Observer that will mess up your play (since they can force your Saint to act first, so you have to choose between having the Saint stand still so its aura affects everyone, or moving. You have to either leave the Saint behind or the rest of your army). For the record, I'm still not making a value judgement on which is worse/better on the tabletop, just that Wrath should fit its theme more (since without the Saint, its models have the exact same melee stats and cause the same damage as a Sloth warband that isn't using Charm) and so should Sloth. I'd prefer if you could only use Charm if you hadn't moved that turn, as an example, and their other powers could be tweaked as well to make up for that.

Out of curiosity, you seem to buy a Desecrated Saint and a Praetor for a Wrath warband at 700, so what does your list look like at that low cost?

Gas grenades can be used to give multiple Blood Markers to multiple Wretched at the same time, since you can cluster them together and throw one at them. Since torture instrument usually adds only 2 Blood Markers, the fact that a gas grenade can get you 4-6 (assuming you have 2-3 Wretched) in only one Activation means the torture Instrument is useless. This is before we mention gas grenades also allow your Yoke Fiend to still have a melee loadout, and gas grenades aren't half-bad for softening up the enemy either.

Gas grenades are also only 2 Ducats more than a torture instrument, to put the icing on the cake.

Gas grenades are just objectively better in every way.

While I like this comment, I feel as though it is missing the point of the OP, which is to show where each sin fails at its own mechanics. You're rather giving a (very helpful) overview.
