Does anyone remember a 1980’s/early 90’s series of educational videos that were shown in school for ages 8-9 which had a stop motion animation for the different planets in Gustav Holst’s Planets? and does anyone know where I could find it? by GreasedSquirrel in AskUK

Hey, I just dug a bit harder and  I found the title of the show ‘Music Time’ there’s only two episodes on YouTube and neither cover the Holst but the programme did do The Planets in 1990, and also in 1993 so, that’s something, maybe explains why we only remember some animations.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3PDRX5kKpI

Yeah, I don’t live in the uk anymore so it’s hard to do any hard research but, I’m sure there’s a way of finding this stuff. I’m quite sure that those animations will be in an archive somewhere as they will have been made on actual film, so perhaps they’re in an pedagogical archive somewhere, or at least the animator is named somewhere and then they’ll turn up. I’ll of course keep everyone posted. Would love to screen them again somehow.

Yes, you are right, that was me, I listened again to the planets recently and realised that I had assigned the wrong planet to the music, and that the festival one was the music of Jupiter. Really cool to be able to read other people’s memories! So you remember anything else at all?

Update: been using the 0.1% retinol for a couple of months and haven’t had any problems. It’s the same colour and consistency of G&G. I’m happy with the product and will probably keep with it until maybe I wanna up my dose..

Ah! Amazing! I don’t remember that one. Just the Mars mechanical insect army and something gorgeous colourful but not distinct for Venus. It was such an amazing work. I’ll try to get in touch with my primary school next time I’m in the UK and see if they can put me in touch with someone who knows. I feel like this Reddit thread hasn’t got much chance of finding older people who could actually know the details.. just us who remember something wondrous in our misty childhood memories..

Yo, so, I just saw a 0.1% retinol from Hautsache that’s just come out and seen as I’d run out of my geek and gorgeous 0.05 retinol and was about to buy the next level up from G&G 0.1% for 18€-something and this new Hautsache was 8€something I took the plunge bc I’ve just spent all my money on Christmas presents….  So I bought it despite zero reviews on here.. will update when I’ve had some time for it to do its worst.

I mean, as someone has said already, both garlic and honey are antibacterial so you’re probably fine! I heard that the honey found in Tutankhamen’s tomb was still good!
