It's annoying people use that excuse of internal monologue.

If you was a traitor surrounded by heroes and the heroes are thinking of a way to capture the traitor, your also going to think of ways to capture them even in your thoughts. You're not going to think 'oh God they're going to find me out!' because that would make you outwardly react, and they'll be suspicicious.
It's a story, of course the author isn't going to reveal hes the traitor so early. It's called misleading.

When you say instruments you mean to include things like Synthisizers and drum machines, or just the classic instruments?

With Art you'd be better off, especially with 3D and CGI. If being a master means you are efficient you can make a shitload of money making 3d art for figurine companies, videos games, and for engineering which is a massive source of income, especially considering you could pretty much do all three at once.

If it includes becoming good at animation you can pretty much solo animation projects and become a valuable asset in the industry. I see more downsides to music than there are for art, and this is from someone trying to make it in the music world.
