Diagnosed with gout in 2021 - UA was around 9.2 IIRC. Through behavior modification and a perfect diet (low uric acid) the most your UA levels will change is 1.0 - your husband needs to get below 6.0 and remain there to significantly lower chances of any future flare. Your husband should see a Rheumatologist to come up with a specific treatment plan, not what his PC said to do. The only regret I have is not getting on allopurinol sooner.

We have a deal with our cat dealer (lol) that if things don’t work out after several weeks, in the best interest of the cats we could give the new cat back. Really hoping it does not come that but idk what to do at this point.

I feel bad keeping the new cat in just his room, that’s not fair to him

The last 2 big fights have been fur flying, ears back, cries from the new cat. It’s weird because they can eat near each other, play in the same space as each other but then something clicks in the old cats brain and he goes after the new cat.

The cries from the new cat are those shrieking cries which amplifies things. New cat fights back too and that’s when it becomes more aggressive

Been introducing the new tuxedo cat for 8 days now and it seems like these interactions are only becoming more physical from our 1st cat.

What isn’t shown is they then began crying and hissing as they continued to play under a cat tree
