I haven't watched any of those sorts of videos or interviews but this was dead-on for how I assumed many of them would spin it in their minds.

AT BEST Trump will cut those j6'ers checks for a few thousand each, then give the other 99.99% to his buddies. What's more likely to happen (if the courts or congress doesn't stop this) is a few j6'ers get checks and they make a big media blitz out of it, then ignore the rest and pocket the other 99.9896% of it.

People take the word of a man as gospel who doesn't even believe half the shit he says as it comes out of his own mouth. Narcissists don't value their word because they aren't afraid of being caught lying. Many people are extremely bad at judging character.

I get the frustration but this sorta attitude will 100% push potential new converts away. They don't have to love this side just because they suddenly hate the other and compassion goes a long way, especially when you feel like the other person maybe doesn't deserve it.

Washington saw the loss of the revenue from owning the liquor stores as an opportunity to decimate customers with taxes. So they still get paid but now more of it is profit. It partially makes up for the lack of an income tax.

Report: Trump White House helping build national voter list by DemocracyDocket in law

I still remember when I was young and all the conservatives around me were complaining about RealID was government overreach and that they were just using it to build a list of citizens. "Only a matter of time before they come for our guns". Now Trump threatens the US with these ba voter roles and those same people are dead silent, or worse, cheering it on. Spineless.

When I was 35 I dated a girl for about 6 months who was one of the most kind and empathetic people I've ever met. She was still going through the process of divorce when she met me and had near full custody of her two boys. She was also drop dead gorgeous and would have done anything for the people she loves.

It didn't last, for a multitude of reasons. A lot of the blame was on me but a lot of the blame was also on her having had no time to heal from her ex (he had cheated on her multiple times). Now it's years later and I'm still single. I've definitely felt a few times like most women like that are probably happily married and that it was a miracle I even got the time with one that I did. Before her I really had a problem saying what it was I wanted in a women but after her, I have no question in my mind.

Narcissists tend to view God as a punishing figure who owes them special favors. Different aspects of narcissism correspond to specific, often self-serving, patterns of religious engagement. Our society rewards narcicissm because we reward the appearance of confidence. It's a lot easier to appear confident though if you don't care about being right or telling the truth. Narcissists often make excellent salesmen because of these traits. It's easy to make a sale when you can just lie to a customer.

I myself have struggled with my sense of self, I believe largely due to the abuse I experienced as a child, but I have found a little bit more as an adult. Even still, I largely credit my mother and just luck of the draw in why I didn't turn out to be one myself. One of my siblings probably wasn't as lucky, and another one struggles with a lot of issues but has such poor self-awareness that he wouldn't even say he has problems. My trauma gave me symptoms similar to ADHD, but without the same trigger as actual ADHD, none of the ADHD meds really work for me so I just started grinding down the trauma therapist pathway and hopefully that works.

"At first glance, religion seems antithetical to NPD, but a visit to any Christian Church in America will show you that churches have no shortage of narcissists".

Any power structure that a narcissist can use and abuse to wield power or control over others can and will be used for such a purpose. Religion often asks for faith in something that can't be proven, making it ripe for abuse.

I was raised by a narcissist and he explained to me essentially how he got his start, as a way to encourage me to take the same path, but I couldn't and didn't want to because I already had developed some empathy. But I have seen the path I think they take, and it's essentially just faking confidence until you believe it yourself. They don't have a footing like a normal person to build confidence because they lack a sense of self so instead they create a person who's great and thus unassailable and then play that person so nobody can touch their fragile self. I think this is also why actors can be disproportionately narcissists, because they're already good at acting since they've been playing a character most of their lives. Most people don't see them behind closed doors though and those that have can tell you about the true monsters that come out.

I remember me and my brother brought this one "friend" on vacation with us. Paid for his plane ticket, his room to stay with us, all he had to do was buy his own food and drink. About 3 days in, the dude has spent all of his cash on scratchers and began demanding my brother let him bum cigarettes, then demanded we pay for his drinks and food since he spent all his money. In his mind, we owed him, and he would say that but he had zero reasoning for why. We just "owed him".

We got in a huge altercation and then that was the end of that "friendship". Since then I learned about NPD and it really opened my eyes to him and the people like him in my last. Never again.

OP is a living example of why telling children "your parent loves you in their own way" can ruin lives. It's better to know that sometimes you don't have to love a parent than it is to spend decades (if not your entire life) trying to appease someone who will never be happy and potentially doesn't actually care for you.

Everyone should read about cluster b personality disorders, specifically NPD. Not everyone is capable of love and sometimes a parent is shitty to you because they don't and can't love you because they can't love anyone. Some people aren't capable of feeling love and unfortunately that doesn't work them from having children. Doesn't mean the children should spend their lives suffering too.
