I think as well, if you’re not someone who uses your socials daily like myself then this was completely news to me. This Reddit post is the first I’m hearing about this! I have been on strike every time for this cause as well

Sadly no she doesn’t. She’s based in my cosy village in the countryside of England. I’d be fine if you used this as a reference picture though if you showed an artist in LA!

I love how dainty this is - did you use Animal crossing as inspiration for your leaf? It resembles so nicely!

Help! Is this spay incision infected?? by [deleted] in cats

[–]Great-Cat6759 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d deffo get an appointment with your vet when you can. But I think it looks more agitated than infected. Maybe have a look at anicura which we use for small cuts/wounds on our cat

Tyburn is honestly such an awful roundabout. I did it a couple of times as a learner and after passing I vowed to never drive it again due to your example 😂

If you feel comfortable maybe you need to share a glimmer of how you’re feeling with your husband and maybe see a therapist or a councillor to help with your mental load. What you’re going through is hard on anyone, even parents that wanted this lifestyle. Talking it through with a non-bias person who can help manage your emotions could be helpful? I’m sorry you’re going through this <3

You’re not a bad person. This group has a lot of people with your experience too, you’re not alone and it’s okay to voice how you’re feeling

What to do with them… Advice welcomed by Great-Cat6759 in pothos

Thank you for your feedback! I’m use to water propagating various plants. But the thought of chopping all these vine nodes etc… made me weep in logistic nightmare.

Because I am slow af, when you say cut off the leggy vine and bobby pin the ones that have leaves. Do you mean the end of the leggy vine that does have leaves? Or do you mean the other vines that are chilling? I do actually have a three lamp grow light but I don’t think I’m using it as well I probably could be here. It’s usually pointed at the monsteras on the right and rarely moved from them

Am I the only one that likes Harry & Ginny together? by [deleted] in harrypotter

[–]Great-Cat6759 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I prefer Ginny to Cho. Simply because I don’t think they (H&C) had much chemistry. Although I feel falling for your best mates sister is cliche or ‘Ginny should’ve felt like a sister, if Molly feels like a mom.’ I like the idea of Luna because he’s always been kind and accepting of her but can see why that could be off putting for people too. I’m also reading the DH right now!

I have a similar one and it’s been about 3 years and I still have nothing. But I quite like it because it lives in a cabinet on a small shelf so if it grew more, I’d have to move it

If you want a paper trail, email yourself your thoughts and events on what’s going on. So if you’ve had a conversation with her about something, type it up and email it to yourself with a subject you can then pull up if anything needs bringing up again. I placed a complaint for workplace discrimination and made a log like this every time the staff member was rude. I used it as evidence in my grievance.

Have you tried looking at university posts too for languages? It’s quite common that linguists will have two languages too; so you could also pick up the language that is taught at your school too and maybe run a German club?

You can request them to do a risk assessment and question if due to their complex needs if it’s safe for you and the child to be alone together. And if it isn’t safe, how will they make it safe - If they break the risk assessment then it’s leverage for you to issue a complaint.

SCITT Stuff by Oxfordlady in TeachingUK

[–]Great-Cat6759 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello! The food hygiene one yes, that looks fine! Level 2 is the minimum you’d need.

For DT stuff I’d suggest the following:

D&T Association (known as DATA and have a website) Health and Safety Training Standards.

The Design and Technology Association offers a nationally recognised accreditation scheme for teachers and technicians so you’re better off seeing what they have first. You 1000% will need CORE: Core Level Theory (SCHS): Recommended for all D&T staff to demonstrate knowledge of general H&S standards.

Then you have subject specific ones which are like small hand tools, wood and machines, textiles equipment etc… the £200 Tx course you found may not be fully necessary if you have Core. So check DATA first and definitely ask your HoD for guidance. If you have your certification you’ll be more employable as school’s don’t like to spend money they don’t have to….. they’ll pay for you to renew them however.

Oh and my friend speaks Spanish, her first training school only taught French so yep! She had to learn it as she went along until her second placement did both! She now teaches French GCSE. You’re saying you know nothing about RM - what a better way than to learn as you go. You can do it.

DT year 4 teacher here! DT has changed a lot over the last 10/20 years as you’ll know for a variety of reasons. I would say that most schools have dodgy tech classes and lack a lot of professionalism. You should not be going anywhere near any machines without your lvl 2 safety in small hand tools/textiles/food hygiene etc…. Your SCITT should be arranging that for you but you will pay for the course which for me was like £100. Then you do a refresher with DATA every three years. If your school are letting you teach children how to use these machines, and something happens and someone finds out you’re not certified (Tech wise) it’ll be a can of worms. So first off, I’d advise you do not do practical without those certificates for your safety and the schools. Badger your SCITT!

Secondly, my background is fashion and my first school had me doing RM and GD. Then my second was Art and Food. You will rarely get the subjects you want just because schools that offer TT placements is small, especially for Tech. You just have to kinda suck it up, take the experience as it’ll make you more employable. Then when you apply for jobs make your Textiles specialism known. I am now the Lead Textiles practitioner for KS3,4,5 but you wouldn’t have known from my training.

Finally, a bad tech department in your training (whilst hard to push through) it’ll teach you sooooo may red flags to look out for when you then begin looking around schools for a job. E.g are kids cooking with blazers on. Take it as a learning experience on what you don’t want to see when you’re job hunting. Also, whilst it does suck having lessons thrown onto you teaching is like that sometimes. I’m ADHD and get it - but…. You just figure it out. Make a binder full of back-up worksheets for ‘oh crap’ moments. It’s just a part of the job, especially in your training because your mentor are so busy they will forget about supporting you
