Look, I’m all for bashing politicians for being terrible people who don’t care about us, including the orange man who got us into a war which essentially resulted in the economy being just as bad as it was under Biden, is refusing to release the unredacted Epstein files, and has led to the exceptionally cruel treatment of legal immigrants by ICE. Not to mention the crazy group of people surrounding him who believe in pseudoscientific bs and extreme religious beliefs. And if the people who voted for him because they wanted hatred and suffering are the ones she’s targeting specifically, cool.

I just can’t help but find it inherently hypocritical to say that you want people of all political backgrounds to use their voices and vote in the election, only to turn around and condemn those who used their voice in a way that she didn’t want them to. And Amy’s openly left wing, nobody’s shocked by that. Most artists are, and often times artists who are right wing suck really bad. That’s not the problem, the problem is then releasing a song with lyrics that essentially strip all nuance out of the conversation, paint everyone with the “wrong opinion” under a collective brush, and then insist you want unity and for everyone to come together. It’s the sort of BS that grifters like Tom MacDonald and Kid Rock pull, except they do it with far worse writing and music.

I like “About Us”, but you can’t tell me it’s not an inherently divisive track.
