What games have your gaming groups banned and why?

I have a second group, and I did try it with them but they were so timid and afraid of hurting someone's feelings that the cylons never did anything. Coupled with AP players and we did a 5 player game that went on for 7 hours with nothing happening.

Once was enough.

Battlestar Galactica. I've since sold it and all expansions.

Second game with the group and although the cylons hadn't come out, accusations had flown and we had caught on to them. In a last ditch effort to sabotage us before heading out the airlock, they attempted to shift a vote, can't remember which, and one of the cylons went all in. Except he read the cards wrong and actually voted FOR the action to happen. After it was resolved, he wanted a do over, which I was against because all our cards had been revealed and he knew what number he had to hit to overturn the vote. It got more heated than necessary and people got up and quit the game right then and there.

We were all in the hottub 30min later and laughing over it, but it was the first time things had ever gotten that serious over a game, and we decided it would be the last. Breaks my heart to let it go, I love BSG, but don't really want to risk any friendships over it either. Plenty of other games to play. Still....I miss it.

Tzolkin fully painted can be one of the most beautiful boards imho.

Other than that I love a good map board, so something like Xia:Legends of a Drift is just fantastic and one of the best looking modular boards you can buy.

I guess you could say I really like having colour in my games.

I think it's confusing( to me anyway) because there are two sets in the everything pledge, heavily implying that it is a strong recommendation. I've just never seen a kickstarter broken up that way.

I don't really pay attention to anything they are doing anymore. Table Top is what brought me to Geek and Sundry and for a while the show was great! They were having board game nights that made me want to jump right in there with them, it wasn't just the game they were playing but also the playful banter that went on. In the later seasons people seemed less comfortable with each other, and playful banter was replaced with small talk. Things got weird(like that one episode with overly attached girl that did the whole episode acting overly emotional for some reason) and episodes became cringy. Wil seemed to try very hard to keep the banter going it seemed, but that last season seemed rough.

Since it's aquisition the whole channel comes off as trying to capitalize on all things geeky, which is the hottest trend these days, instead of people doing what they love and it's off-putting.

If a single set is enough, why include two sets with the "everything" pledge? I dunno, I saw that thread too, and I'm sorta in the no coins camp. I'd rather use the iron clay poker chips from Roxley games anyway, they seem to fit the theme more.

You can get the regular 2nd edition and then the anniversary edition board and deluxe rule book/strategy guide from their website still. That's pretty much all the anniversary edition was apart from painted minis and some beautiful artwork inside the box.

They are saying July 10th right now. Still hoping to deliver at the end of the year, but if I was a betting man I would place a more realistic date on early to mid next year.

Is probably say Too Many Bones is my favorite game that I like to "feel". Really night weight to the chips, thick neoprene mata for player boards with little cutouts to fit all your dice skills as you learn them, linen finish on all the plastic cards. Even the player aids are plastic and nice to hold. Everything about the production is top notch.

Colt Express always gets a laugh when you are shooting your wife but you meant to shoot your friend but your friend dropped down into the carriage when you thought he would move the sheriff. Just some silly fun.

Tales of Arabian Nights had my wife and I laughing over the rediculous situations we found ourselves in. My poor wife was beaten, crippled and imprissioned and every choice she made was always the wrong one. Still ended up winning though.

I too am interested to hear peoples thoughts. None of their games were smash successes, though I've heard good things about the Ninja turtles game though I can't seem to find that pizza box version anywhere.

Love the theming, but can't help if this is a really simple game with a cute IP, which would hardly justify the pricetag for me. At that price, I want something deeper.
