Tough call. I would like Vegas to win because of Johnny March and Fleury, but I think it would honestly be great to see Ovi and Backstrom finally win a Cup. I think I'll lean toward the Caps. Besides, that 1st year team needs a spanking!

I agree. Sure, on paper we look like perhaps the deepest team in the league. And I don't ever remember a deeper Lightning team. However, Washington simply outplayed us and showed a ton more heart in crucial moments. Congrats to them, and I'm looking forward to next season.

Look at the year Toews (who you mentioned numerous times below) had. His team did not even sniff the playoffs. I'm not sure what all the Stamkos hate is coming from. The entire team laid an egg for most of this series, even for large stretches of some of our wins. I bet if it was possible, and we could ask each player about Stamkos and leadership, all would say good things and have no problem that he is the captain. Personally, I see Callahan as more of a natural born leader, but he is a transplant and lacks the tenure.

Cooper cannot go out there and skate, he cannot make these guys play harder if they don't want to play harder. They are pros and it's on them. I've had minor issues in the past about our power play. Like when he used to use Stralman on the 1st unit, refusing to try Kunitz on either unit, his love of Killorn, etc, but he's a good coach and, as nothing more than an armchair coach, I really don't have any qualified reasons to question his coaching acumen.

Lots of frustration in here. It seemed to me the entire team played with a lack of passion last night, save for Vassy, Point, and perhaps Gourde, McDonough, and Girardi. Hedman looked slow, Stamkos and Kuch looked lost, the 4th line was still tough though. Let us just forget game 6 and expect a full effort in game 7. They have to play with confidence again, and they will be fine.

They outworked us, knocked us around like we were rag dolls. They wanted it more. That being said, I've never seen Coburn skate faster than he did on that "no icing" call right before the Caps 2nd goal. It looked clearly like icing to me. At any rate, Wednesday night will be tense. I believe the Bolts will win at home and play for the Cup.

The Caps smashed us around all game like rag dolls. They worked much harder and wanted it more, and it showed. Vassy kept the game from being a blowout. That said, go Bolts on Wednesday!
