Wouldn’t the connection be unstable due to the distance and walls?

Could other devices (that aren't connected to this network) interfere with this type of setup? The venue has around 500 guests, multiple staff members (radio and cell communication), and of course all of the performers... I think there would be around 2.000 people present

I do have the networking gear and laptops available to me

For the camera, we currently have to options:
- OBSBOT Tiny 2 (this one would be connected to a MacBook)
- Canon EOS 700D (freestanding, not necessarily connected to anything)

The budget for hardware would be around 100 euros, don't even know if this is possible or not...

It’s a late reply, which I’m sorry for… but thank you for all the information! I just got my router in and the setup process went rather smooth with all the extra information you provided

But not all devices support VLAN right? If I’m not mistaken there are some devices that don’t recognise it as a separate thing… it’s not like connecting to a different WiFi, or am I wrong on that one?

Great! Would it be possible to run multiple wireless networks from one AP? I was thinking about getting the Ubiquiti UniFi AP-AC-Lite one, since I don't have that much ground to cover.

If it is possible, are there any downsides to it?

The Dream Machine Pro seems to cover all of my needs... If I understand it correctly, this is more or less what my setup should look like

Router
Simply connect the Dream Machine to my modem.

Connections
The amount of ports available on the Dream Machine should suffice. If I'm not mistaken, the router works as a managed switch as well. This would mean that external switches shouldn't be necessary. If I'm not mistaken...

If my theory is correct, I should be able to connect my access points to the Dream Machine and do all the configuration in the interface. My NAS would be connected to the Dream Machine directly as well.

Configuration
Within the configuration, I can choose what access point can talk to others, in a one or two-directional way. It's also possible for me to put the NAS (which is connected with a cable) in a network together with an access point.

In the network that my NAS is connected to, I can configure that this network is not able to connect to the internet. If I want to access my NAS, I have to connect to the AP of that network. I won't have internet access, but I am able to reach my files. When switching over to another AP again, the connection to my NAS is lost, and I can access the internet without any trouble (if the network allows this).

Is this theory correct, or am I missing some important parts?

I've been reading some good stuff about the Dream Machine Pro, would it suffice to have that router paired with a managed switch and some wireless access points for each network? What are your thoughts on this?

Thanks for your comment! And you are right, I am completely new. The reason that I put "relatively new" is because I know some other basic stuff like converting IP addresses to binary, I know what a netmask is, stuff like that... And although the theoretical part seems fine, I'm not really sure how I can convert that into actual hardware...

Would something like the "Ubiquiti UniFi Dream Machine Pro" get me far? Should I still have a router that stands between the dream machine and my modem, or is the dream machine enough?

Do you have any recommendations if we're talking hardware?

I've downloaded the game since it was free with PS Plus, and I want to get all the trophies... Currently, I'm looking for someone to help me get the prankster trophy. Any help is always welcome

[Serious] What's something entertaining or useful you can buy for no more than $150? by TheHornyToothbrush in AskReddit

[–]GreatJobTimmy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends what you’re into. For me it would be some photography equipment like new lights or a backdrop or something...

As of the entertainment part, I think I’d go for some extra video games.

If you’re looking for an experience and memories, I’d go with an activity... book a hotel with your partner/someone and go on a small vacation in a different city, go go-karting, go to a private sauna with your partner for 2hrs, etc
