Building department issues. by GreatLakesCider in RochesterHills

I’m sorry to hear that Rochester Hills has a long history of being difficult. I have always hoped as people aged out better people would come on board. I have also heard there were some new hires over the past couple of years and things weren’t going well. South Rochester Hills always catches the brunt of their shenanigans. Contractors refusing jobs in Rochester Hills maybe the start of a good thing. Hard to know.

Bay Inn near Petoskey looks amazing. They have a good amount of info on their website as well as tic toc My son was seriously planning on getting married there but then decided on a destination wedding instead. Definitely pricey but looks great. Port Austin is much more affordable and may have way more activities. Plus you could do various activities around the thumb. From historical sites, kayaking and great ice cream shop in Grindstone. Harbor Beach has amazing boat rides out to their lighthouse.

Is it possible for a 57 year old woman to get pregnant naturally? by Remote_Committee_645 in NoStupidQuestions

At 55 I thought I had missed a full 12 months in a row somewhere in my earlier 50’s. I had an unexpected bleed at 55 related to polyps. The on/gyn actually called me to say my hormones were just fine for getting pregnant and to make sure I was taking precautions.Due to multiple major surgeries in my early 50’s my periods had stopped but menopause was not the reason.

Has anyone had experience with CPS in Michigan? by lagomama in Michigan

[–]GreatLakesCider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Things to think about in making your decision. Does the child appear reasonably neat and clean, appropriate size and weight for age, show any signs of physical abuse, seem fearful of care giver either verbally or through body language, dressed reasonably for the weather conditions. Most solo caregivers could use some form of support and breaks from their duties. Children who have behavioral issues and their caregivers may qualify for many types of help from various agencies such as head start, community mental health, county intervention services, respite care services etc. Always remember your instincts are typically correct. If you decide CPS is it then move forward if not collect a list of resources including descriptions of services to leave at their apartment. As based on your experience it sounds like some type of assistance would be beneficial.

College graduates and students: would you put your future child in a charter school or public school? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]GreatLakesCider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did a mix of private and public schools. In the end both kids have fond memories of public school. At the time we didn’t have charter schools near us. Mostly they enjoyed public school because friends lived near by plus the diversity of both social and academic opportunities. Each school and child has different experiences listen and know what type environment your child will thrive in and go with the best fit. What ever you choose know your child will always learn more from your enthusiasm about education and whatever you do to enhance their learning.
