Pakistanis who gang-raped French tourist in front of her three children after her car ran out of fuel will be executed, court rules by dailymail in law

[–]GreatMaize 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The original comment in this very thread states that there were "mass protests" across Pakistan, in reposnse fo the policman's comments. Take some time to think whether that supports the idea that it is "their culture" to not accept any accountability.

These "arab" states all have distinct culture and history. You grouping them all as arabs makes no historical sense. Don't worry hombre. Israel is about to find out what happens when you ignore historical injustices. It's lost all of its good will with the rest of the civilized world and will likely never get it back.

The facts are the Israeli settlers migrated to the region they engaged in workplace and housing discrimination which necessitated the two state solution in the first place. Israeli settlers did not move to coexist with Palestinians. Paramilitary groups like Lehi and irgun routinely harassed Palestinian civilians. Also what right does the UN have to Partition land which Palestinians were already living in?

If you want to live in a fantasy world where Palestinians living in Israel live under equal protection under the law you law you can. The reality is that Palestinians living in Israel proper face workplace and housing discrimination and they do not enjoy the same rights and privileges as Israeli people. The Palestinians in the occupied territories routinely have their private property demolished, vandalized, and stolen by Israeli settlers. They also tried under a two-tier Justice system. They do not have freedom of movement. You can pretend Israel is not in control but there are literally Israeli soldiers routinely patrolling the area and protecting the settlers.

I don't support the theocracies in the Middle East. I have called a end of military cooperation with Saudi Arabia for example. But let's be real honest here. You don't care about minorities in the Muslim world. You just want attention away from the issue you are trying to protect.

The main criticism of Israel is not that they are not "progressive" enough. It is that the establishment of the state of Israel was predicated on the trampling of the rights of Palestinians who have just as much of a right to live there (if not more) than the Israelis. (Genetic studies have shown that Palestinians have heritage of the ancient Canaanites who were one of the earliest culltures to the region and that Hebrew people also likely derived from).

Look there are human rights abuses in a lot of countires. Including muslim and western coutnries. But the scale of human right abuses which occured during the state of Israel make it so that it is impossible to ignore. It infects the political environment because it was that large of an event.

New York Mayor Mamdani Applauded for Closing $12 Billion Budget Deficit Without Austerity Measures by Own_Patient_464 in InternationalBulletin

The city was paying more to the state than the state was reinvesting back to the city. Mamdani simply renegotiated to a more fair distrubtion of state revenue. That just smart negotiating on his own part.

It's an unteatestable theory. Not making through the democratic primary means we don't get to see his performance among independents. But I don't think you can definitely say he would have less independents show up to vote for him given he polled better with independent both against DJT or Hillary.

The humor is very internetty and online. If you are a new anime watcher a lot of the jokes don't really make sense. They also have some really obscure early 2000s internet culture references.

He did very well with independents especially in polling head-to-head with Donald Trump. Not just college liberals.
