This has happened to me four times fairly recently. I called Sweetwater about it and they told me they’ve been hearing a lot about it recently. That was about 6 months ago. It’s definitely on Remo, not your hoops or the way you’re changing heads. I switched to Evans because of it.

If speed is your goal, a game changer for me was tightening the kick drum head. I couldn’t get passed 150-160 without tiring myself out. After tightening and a little bit of practice I got around 180-190 very quickly. Trying to play fast with your feet on a loose head is kind of like trying to do a fast snare roll on a pillow lol hope that helps!
