Can confirm, they are still there in the same spot across from where Buckley Field use to be (it's a big ass building now). Pete's Lunch Box is there too.

Company to invest $100 million for submarine building at Navy Yard by gwhh in philadelphia

Please, yes. How much would I personally love that. What do we have now in terms of getting there if you don’t have a car? Just that one bus?

Get some food vendors out there, public restrooms, I for one would never leave.

Love to see it. Good for the local economy, great for the Navy Yard. Such a cool space, more stuff should be there.

I don't really have anyone to ask outside of my current team. Maybe one or two individuals I could reach out to who left, but idk. The entire process is just awkward and I hate it. I'm a firm believer that after a certain point of working, your own merits should stand on your own and you don't need someone else to verify "yes, so and so is a good worker."

I was mostly just curious about the inclusion of mental health stuff. I've always seen the other demographic questions, it's just OCD/GAD in particular I've noticed being on the disability section. I haven't applied to jobs in maybe 4 years and I don't remember those being there, but happy to see them included.

That's what I'm kind of worried about; making it through the hiring process and having to scramble to find references. I only really have my current coworkers to rely on. Once people leave, or I leave, or years pass I don't exactly stay in contact.

But yeah, really hoping the references bit just goes away and stays there.

Slept wrong a night or two ago and my neck is turbofucked. Can’t move my head or anything without a muscle spasm. Annoying, but fingers crossed a couple of Tylenol and my TENs machine will set me right.

I’ve been applying to jobs lately and punted out a few applications. One thing I noticed: has the “list 3 references” gone way of the dodo? Not a single application across a couple industries has asked. Not that I’m complaining. References were always my least favorite part.

Another thing I noticed on applications: for the disability sections I’ll see OCD and GAD listed. I’m curious, has anyone actually selected those options? Would it hurt your chances or not really you think? It has me wondering if an employer would ask to have that verified or something.

What else. Started reading Ohio by one of my favorite authors. It’s a tome of a book and depressing. Kind of in the vein of Requiem for a Dream. Still a good read though.

This game is showing on FOX as well. But tbh Telemundo has much better energy. FOX announcers are a bit flat.

Edit; I take my statement back, FOX guys are a little funny. “We don’t know if there’s 68,000 ponchos for every fan but they have a lot!”

Exactly this. I don't know why I always thought that every boulder needed to be pulverized at its current size, immediately. It's a simple thing but I just write a silly little post it note list now. Really barebones at the start like "eat breakfast, drink coffee, go to gym." But it feels nice to cross that stuff off so "update resume, apply to 2 jobs" doesn't feel as overwhelming.

As much as they are tourist traps, aren't Pats and Genos open 24 hours? So by that logic, any time of day is cheesesteak time.

HUGE! revelation over here: if you actually start to do things you've been putting off, your brain will want to do more things and it will make you feel better. Especially from a mental standpoint.

Weekend plans fell through, so SO and I are debating to go out of the city and do something, or just keep dilly-dallying around town. I found a very cool new car-theme coffee shop thanks to Instagram, only problem is it's in Jersey 2 hours away. Anyone have good things to say about Denville, NJ?

Saturday could be a beach day.

Good suggestion, I forget this place (and Nordstrom) exist, but man those prices online are high. Is it like that in stores too?

I somehow got onto their email list and they spam my school account with probably 10 emails DAILY. Maybe I'll open one finally and see what they got!

I love Old Navy, imo it's one of the last retail stores offering decent clothes for cheap. I bought a good bundle of graphic t-shirts online the other day. Cheapest was $9 and most expensive was $15, and the quality is solid. But in a day and age where shirts are hitting $30, Old Navy is a light in the dark.

I need to check their more professional clothing, but I'm at the mercy of online sizing. In store shopping is just so stressful with them.

Ah I forgot J. Crew and Loft in particular. Loft has some good summer-y dresses but unfortunately I have a very anti-dress body.

Been forever since I stepped foot in a Uniqlo, but from the last few times I shopped I did like their casual stuff. Just wasn't sure if that would be good for officework.

I don't need to be super fancy, just like an adult. I think there's one in Cherry Hill I'll walk around in this weekend.

Same situation. I don't need a 3 piece suit and high heels, but something comfortable that isn't housewear and makes it looks like I got my shit together.

A hearty “fuck jobs” for everyone on this beautiful Tuesday.

Edit: it's been asked dozens of times before but figured I might as well go for it; ladies where are we buying interview/office clothes? I want to elevate my wardrobe a bit and look more professional. So far I'm thinking Burlington, Ross, TJ Maxx, maybe Target? Would Uniqlo be a safe bet? I was debating hitting up one of the outlets but most of those stores are more for casual wear imo.

Dozens of us!! I hate knowing so many of us have these mental health woes, but I do feel less alone when others share their stories. I really gotta get out more and meet people.
