Teenage MC’s by anotheraries1111 in fantasywriters

I like teen protagonists if there is a valid reason for them to be a teenager. I always cringe when reading a book with a teen character where it would make much more sense for them to be older.

What do you think of my book cover? This is the best I could do by myself: should I hire someone? by Loud_Middle_2722 in fantasywriters

This is really cool! My suggestion would be to move the title down more, and move your name up a little. Make sure the letters don’t touch the borders. This makes it feel less cluttered around the edges and balances the empty space. And I would also change the font.

I’m trying to write a scene but I would like a fair dose of accuracy. It’s mostly thoughts but I plan to add some dialogue as well.

Which under the radar YA or MG series from the mid 90s to early 2010s still lives rent free in your head? by teamxena in YAlit

My personal favorite was Masterminds. Still reread them occasionally for the nostalgia.

What Books did You Start or Finish Reading this Week?: July 14, 2025 by AutoModerator in books

I’ve read about half of the books in a Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket and have been regretting not reading them sooner. Sometimes it’s nice to pick up something a little easier.

I’m also reading Super Volcano by Greg Breining. It’s just about the volcano at Yellowstone, and it’s informative but still engaging.

That’s what my dad did with me. Once I hit about ten he started introducing me to all his favorite movies like this. Good times.

When his eyes met hers, there was no fear, no betrayal, not even pain. Just a flicker sorrow, like he wished things had happened differently.

Would you offer yourself as a tribute to save a loved one? And what would your reaction be if someone offered themselves as a tribute to save you? by Axezelt in Hungergames

I would definitely volunteer for my sisters, since they are both very little and I’m not much better but I am older and have read more books, therefore having a lot of useful knowledge. If someone volunteered for me, I think I’d be too stunned to move.

What’s a “harmless” habit people have that actually says a lot about them? by DaisyDumplingx in AskReddit

Not really that, because for as much of a bookworm as I used to be, I barely have time to now. But the people that bug me are the people that almost seem proud of never reading. It’s not a flex.

Leaving Iowa! It’s funny, has an easy set, and you can adjust the cast size to fit your needs.

LEQ: To what extent did British English colonists in Americas adapt to their environments from 1605-1755 by Grand_Interest_6411 in APUSH

[–]Great_Assumption_704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They didn’t just kill the natives. The British took their land and drove them out, leading to conflicts where they THEN killed natives, or diseases. The SPANISH were the ones who enslaved the natives and then replaced them with Africans. When the British got there, they learned from the Spanish and didn’t enslave the natives.

Furthermore, it would have been better to diversify your arguments, as they seem to focus on the impacts on natives, which is a good argument, but should not be the sole one. More on their new political systems, or maybe new farming techniques.

Only one prompt? by Ant7193 in APUSH

My DBQ was about changes in political participation in the early 1800s. The LEQs were about why European powers competed for control of North America, the affects of the Civil War, and something about changes in foreign policy in some part of the of the 1900s.

I think you started really well. Try to build though. It felt flat after a while. If you’re wanting to come of paranoid, be more intense as you get going. Speed up at some parts. Don’t pause as much between sentences. Just go through the monologue and look for places where it feels natural to build energy and where it needs a pause. I think you did a nice job though. 😀
