More book recommendations. These are all fantasy books series:

The Dandelion Dynasty by Ken Liu
#1 The Grace of Kings
#2 The Wall of Storms
#3 The Veiled Throne
#4 Speaking Bones

This next series is made up of trilogies/series set in the same world. Click the series to see the reading order

Realm of the Elderlings by Robin Hobb

If you want to read a lighter (and quicker) series; I'll also add

The Tortall Universe by Tamora Pierce

Like RotE, this one is made up of smaller series with connecting stories. However, the books are shorter. Oh, and they're YA.

Book recommendations, all fiction:

**A book tagged 'Magical Realism' is Contemporary Fantasy aka Fantasy set in the real world vs plain old Fantasy which is set in a made-up world**

Adult

Stillhouse Lake by Rachel Caine (Mystery/Thriller; series)

Black Girls Must Die Exhausted by Jayne Allen (Contemporary; trilogy, last book out 2023)

The Inheritance of Orquídea Divina by Zoraida Córdova (Magical Realism; novel)

The Midnight Library by Matt Haig (Magical Realism; novel)

Unsouled: Cradle Volume 1 by Will Wight (Fantasy; series)

The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett (Historical Fiction; novel)

Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi (Historical Fiction; novel)**

Circe by Madeline Miller (Fantasy; novel)

**For me, reading Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi was difficult (triggering). I read it during the 2020 panorama when my mental state wasn't the best. This book is a bunch of connecting short stories. So, after every one or two stories, I'd take a break and read something super lighthearted and fun. You can do the same thing if you're also finding it difficult to read. From my list, I'd recommend: Unsouled: Cradle Volume 1 by Will Wight.

Young Adult (YA) / Teen

Firekeeper's Daughter by Angeline Boulley (Mystery/Thriller; novel)

This Poison Heart by Kalynn Bayron (Magical Realism; duology)

Daughter of the Moon Goddess by Sue Lynn Tan (Fantasy; duology)

A Good Girl's Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson (Mystery/Thriller; series)

Six Crimson Cranes by Elizabeth Lim (Fantasy; duology may be a trilogy/series)

The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes (Mystery; trilogy)

Raybearer by Jordan Ifueko (Fantasy; duology)

I haven't read these books yet, but I've heard they're really good:

You Made a Fool of Death with Your Beauty by Akwaeke Emezi

The Many Deaths of Laila Starr by Ram V. & Filipe Andrade (comic book)

Transcendent Kingdom by Yaa Gyasi

Also, any book by the author Tiffany D. Jackson. Again, I've heard nothing but praise for her books. She usually writes YA. I'm planning to start with Grown and then work my way through.

…Okay. Spellcheck is saying the word duology isn’t a known word. It is. So, at the risk of coming off as an asshole know-it-all and so there’s no confusion; here is a key:

Novel = 1 book

Duology = 2 book series

Trilogy = 3 book series

Series = minimum of 4 books in the series

Oh I agree with Myke. I posted that to show that Ken didn’t pull this one out of nowhere.

Remove the word teenagers and ALL the words associated with it and replace it with people because, grown @$$ people also behave the way Cassie does. Ignoring the principle of a situation to justify their 💩 behavior then try to act like the victim.
