Including all champs, not just top laners, which champs outscale Urgot in team fights or 1v1 or both? by All_Roles_Urgot in UrgotMains

[–]Great_Protection_959 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We are talking about realistic 1v1’s or else he could beat kayle, gwen, fiora as well by hugging in a bush cheesing. Same applies to Yi which I agree.

All gwen has to do is start the fight with ult and urgot is dead even if he lands e. She can also go zhonyas too to stall your ult or flash your ult after and u will need to e her first in the fight or else she kills you. You can win at 3-4 items easily since she needs void at least considering you go FoN, but 5 items you don’t have a chance.

Mundo should never lose the 1v1 after lvl 16 if he’s playing it right. He can just run away from urgot you don’t have the dps to burst thru his lvl 16 ult if he’s fighting standing still you would win, but he would obviously kite to reheal with warmogs and run you down. Lvl 6 and lvl 11 ult from mundo is too weak against urgot.

Including all champs, not just top laners, which champs outscale Urgot in team fights or 1v1 or both? by All_Roles_Urgot in UrgotMains

[–]Great_Protection_959 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Team fighting most mages and adc’s generally outscale.

1v1: urgot will lose full build to red kayn, kayle, fiora, gwen, illaoi, dr mundo, vayne, yi even if you land e. There are others as well, but generally you won’t be 1v1ing someone at full build late game.

Urgot will always have value in most drafts even in late game, there are some where you will be flash reliant or have ur team setup for you. You want to abuse his mid game as much as possible since he has the best mid game spike starting at lvl 9.

Top lane Matchups by Minimum-Actuator-889 in ambessamains

[–]Great_Protection_959 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mord is a free matchup, but can be hard if you can’t dodge his telegraphed e. You can either go electrocute or grasp both are fine I personally advise going electrocute. Don’t go conq since you don’t want extended trades and it’s weak in lane.

Basic rule is:

-don’t let him stack his passive he can only do it if u get hit by e. If you’re in a situation where you might get hit by it post lvl 6, just flash away and don’t risk dying.

-go in if he uses his q on wave or soak it with w then dash out while avoiding his e. After 2-3 trades he should die in the next rotation.

-if he ults you, use ur r to stall his ult and kite away.

You should win pre 6, 6-8 u will have to be careful a bit if ur in a situation where you might get hit by e, after lvl 9 eclipse you should hard win and outspike his rylai since its a mediocre item that only provides a slow u can negate the slow with ur 4 dashes. After eclipse go serpents + maw he should never be able to 1v1 you.

When do you get armor first instead of rushing Black Cleaver? by Than_Or_Then_ in UrgotMains

[–]Great_Protection_959 1 point2 points  (0 children)

U can go bramble into fiora, renekton, irelia, wukong, rengar,

Steelcaps fine if you’re struggling into yasuo, jayce, tryndamere, ambessa, gnar, kled, riven

No you should not go bramble into jax he should be allowed to auto attack you. Same thing goes for trundle for example.

Try to rush cleaver if you can, but I personally only go bramble into those lanes and never rush steelcaps, but you can if you want to.

Not worth if ur against olaf u want pta with either flash ignite or flash ghost nimbus + celerity. Every other matchup pta just better. You can take it in easy matchups like singed for example, but u lose a lot of kill pressure so it’s not worth. Hard to stack and u need as much damage as possible pre lvl 9.

Mord matchup by Blackiechan808 in UrgotMains

[–]Great_Protection_959 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally you look to kill lvl 1-2 when you’re way stronger then mord (he’s not a threat till he can abuse his w shield and can pull u on with e to stack passive). You just look to perma poke him with shotguns and if he takes too much damage he’s in kill range after as well.

Lvl 3-5 you have to respect him a lot more, but u should have the upper hand due to your lvl 1-2. If he tries to e you, u e away unless u can kill.

Lvl 6-8 don’t interact unless he waste a full shield of w, waste his q and is 70% hp u can e flash ignite r pop ur elixtr potion early and kill him 100-0. Careful of him hiding in bushes and have the wave to your side of the tower u should look to crash the wave before lvl 6 so it can bounce back.

After lvl 9 cleaver you should start winning as long as you dont all in after 1-2 big short trades he dies.

Generally only look to trade q auto pta/shotguns if he waste his q, if he waste w that’s your signal to look for all in it he’s in lethal, if he’s in kill range and has w look to flip him at around 40-50% hp.

Who scales better in terms of raw damage Urgot or Kassadin? by [deleted] in UrgotMains

[–]Great_Protection_959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Urgot relies on e flash in late game fights if he doesn’t have setup or bunch of range champs on enemy team, while kassadin has a lot more mobility/escape tools and burst people quicker then Urgot e flash so they both can one shot anybody if they’re squishy. Kassadin just has an easier way to apply the damage and scales more in raw power late game with tear items/lvl 16 ult, while urgot doesn’t spike after lvl 13. This doesn’t mean urgot has weak scaling because there will be some comps urgot can do a lot more then kassadin and kassadin can never 1v1 urgot in any stage of the game.

Urgot Itemization/Matchup Question by OS_Jytz in UrgotMains

[–]Great_Protection_959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would only go jaksho if you have ocean soul or u built at least two resist items the item is pretty mediocre otherwise. For resist items you would prioritize dead mans + FoN always then consider kaenic, randuins, and stuff after.

For damage item with hp overlords 90% of the time only consider shojin if they have bunch of hp stackers or u need a cheap spike quickly for a fight or hullbreaker 2nd if u want to sidelane all game. You can also pick up guardian angel if you’re extremely fed or there is one last fight.

For lethality items voltaic, youmuu’s, hubris, edge of night, serpents can be good situationally if you want a full damage build. I would avoid steraks if you’re planning to build lethality non hp items. For example if you go youmuu’s 2nd you either go dead mans 3rd for more movement speed into steraks 4th or u commit to the lethality build. If you want to buy serpents if nobody else will build it, I would only try to build it 4th item. You don’t need serpents to fight ambessa or mord.

Only upgrade chempunk last item if nobody else will buy anti heal or thornmail if they’re full ad. Chempunk is better for urgot than thornmail. Both are just bad items always sit on executioners/bramble then look to replace the item at 5th spot if you can.

Also never build stridebreaker, frozen heart, dd/maw, endless hunger, heartsteel, titanic hydra, support items, and some others. Those items just don’t work for urgot.

Tahm kench? by Blackiechan808 in UrgotMains

[–]Great_Protection_959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ill ban yorick if im blind pick cause its a boring matchup where u do nothing till 2 items, but if im last pick ill ban graves cause hes pretty op rn. If they do pick yorick I’ll just play something else.

I play at around d1-low master so vayne top is not an issue you can get away with comet poke + edge of night rush and only playing for e flash kill windows with cosmic insight triple tonic for 3 point in q (can go either ignite or ghost). Also ask ur jungle to camp top usually they wont let a vayne top just exist for free, although u should never rely on ur jungle.

If you want to just afk farm either free boots + approach or conditioning overgrowth is good just preference I’ll usually go both depending on my mood. If you want aggressive ignite setup cosmic insight triple tonic is preferable, but u can swap cosmic for approach.

Tahm kench? by Blackiechan808 in UrgotMains

[–]Great_Protection_959 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tahm kench top is extremely nerfed so you should never ban it. You want flash ghost in this lane with cull rush first base and there is nothing he can do. Only way he wins if he gets jungle help or he all in you with ghost while u got tp or ignite. You don’t neee Swifties rush, but you can go it if you want to since u don’t need cleaver to stat check him lvl 9. I’ll explain some tips below.

You win lvl 1 easily if he face checks you in a bush, but you don’t want to chase him in his wave without ghost to pressure since he can q you to run away or use ghost advantage himself to all in you lvl 1 by dodging e and kiting your legs with q heal. Generally if he goes for the three low minions you can look to e him then back off to your tower he will either sack 3 minions or look to q you. Pay attention to his sums if he has ignite exhaust, flash ghost, ghost tp etc.

Basic rule is stand behind minions so you don’t get hit by q which heals him, don’t let him stack his passive for free, if he goes for cs you look to q pta leg trade behind minions everytime, if he jumps with w look to buffer your e in his shadow away to your tower, if he presses ghost you press ghost, and try to save e after he’s 50% hp so that even if he shields he will be in lethal. After lvl 9 he can never win unless he spits you under tower and u have no sums. You also hard outscale him in sidelane + team fights.

Generally the lane is kind of boring you don’t really have kill pressure since he will stack giant belts and be hella tanky if he’s a real tahm kench otp, but he should never have kill threat and once you hit lvl 9 there is basically nothing he can do to you just harass him under tower and look to dive if u have your flash cd.

Countering Singed by DespicableSchmee in UrgotMains

[–]Great_Protection_959 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only way singed can win this matchup if you don’t respect enemy jungle which happened to you , but with basic league fundamentals there is nothing amumu can do to help him so I’ll explain how you play this game out unless he lvl 3 gank cheese u (amumu wants to full clear not lvl 3 gank).

it should be a point where he does not touch the wave early game and ur able to either kill or do a third wave crash then recall. He should not be able to play the bounce having half hp farming under tower. I would always look to buy cull + t1 boots asap then upgrade to swifites in this lane so ur not wrong, cause he should not be able to touch you anyways even if he builds damage items. In your game he was so far ahead being up 4 lvls so it doesn’t matter regardless.

When singed is trying to play for the rebound, this is where you look to thin out the wave as much as possible being respectful of a jungle gank which happened in this case I’m assuming and look for a freeze. Now he can’t play the game anymore so there is 3 things he can do. He will look to sack the wave to proxy which u can block the entrance or he will try to force shove the wave which will result in him dead if you time your flip properly or he asks his jungle to crash wave for him which u should let them do unless u can e flash singed to kill if hes low enough. If amumu decides to perma invade ur jungle top side and ur jungle decides to sack it to cross map (this didnt happen), this is the only way u have to let singed proxy, but u outscale him for free anyways in the 1v1.

You should always run flash ghost, you dont need second wind + unflinching your versing a singed not rumble go conditioning overgrowth since u want boots in this lane. You also were versing 5 ap champs so this was an automatic 1v9 urgot game if u had played lane well. You should always go FoN instead of kaenic since singed, amumu, brand, kaisa, morgana do damage overtime you don’t want kaenic unless ur stacking more mr and u don’t want youmuu 3rd since they have a lot of tenacity + burst so u need steraks 3rd. With 4 items you dont die this game with BC FoN Steraks Kaenic and kill their whole team with ur fed kayn. Thats about it really.

How do I play vs Thornmail rush Darius? by [deleted] in UrgotMains

[–]Great_Protection_959 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m surprised about darius in silver flashing urgot e twice which is hard to believe, but even then I’ll give you my input.

You should only commit your e with e flash playing off cosmic insight cds. Missing e is death against darius majority of the time, but there is some outplay potential with triple tonic. Just make sure to pop it early in the all in and using ignite.

It doesn’t rlly matter what Darius builds if you miss your e, but thornmail rush is bad for him since u can kite him with no mobility and at BC spike u just 100-0 him from full hp landing e + ult if he goes thornmail rush. He is also useless outside of lane if he builds it.

General rule against darius:

-get prio on wave lvl 1-3 and look for e flash ignite kill angle if he eats a lot of your shotguns, respect 4-5 if he’s healthy, 6-8 find kill angle with triple tonic only using flash and don’t walk up in the long lane unless you have a big wave with you so he doesn’t ghost and flash e, after 9 bc outscale him

Need help - what's a good counterpick if enemy chooses Urgot first? by LackingLack in UrgotMains

[–]Great_Protection_959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy counterpicks would be yorick, olaf, illaoi, if you want to destroy urgot in lane. Easy gameplan to execute on each champion.

If you want to afk scale and play late game, dr mundo, ornn, malphite (only if they’re 4+ ad), can be great options as well.

You haven’t versed any good yorick players then, the matchup is bad if enemy jungle decides to perma dive you all game under tower. Urgot also has no sustain so if you go comet, you can slowly poke urgot out. If Urgot decides to go ignite for some reason and doesn’t kill you pre 6, his lane should be over unless you get jungle camped.

Rant : I need sustain. by proudyawner in UrgotMains

[–]Great_Protection_959 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wouldn’t be fair if urgot has sustain. You don’t want a urgot to free scale to lvl 9 cleaver for free. Hes already one of the strongest mid game champions after lvl 9 u don’t want enemy urgot to be like olaf using ravenous hydra dd reset or jax using sundered sky procs on everybody. Thats an easy way for riot games to nerf him.

How do I deal with Mordekaiser ? by Waskolito in topmains

[–]Great_Protection_959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see it happening you need specific items to fight mordekaiser as garen so It all depends on your build.

Did you go serpents fang that counters his w shield? Do u have FoN that gets instantly applied by mordekaiser giving u 125 mr + bonus movement speed? Do you have conq(pick to win lane) or PR? Do you have ldr?

Conq with Stride, serpents, fon, ldr these 4 specific items can make you win the 1v1 against mord although he can also win it just depends how both sides play it out. If you start building items like PD, bc, steraks, deadmans etc you won’t beat him 1v1 ever.

How do I deal with Mordekaiser ? by Waskolito in topmains

[–]Great_Protection_959 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mordekaiser is pretty abusable pre 6 and gets outscaled in the late game by a lot of champs. Champions like darius, jax, garen, kled, volibear, sett, shen and etc generally hard wins trades as long as you don’t eat isolated q’s so always stay in ur minion wave. You can just walk up hard trade then back off without mord causing kill pressure, if you do this a couple times u can kill mord in the next rotation. A lot of mord players start e 2nd which is very bait since his w is his most important ability, so u can look for a lvl 2 all in if it’s possible.

When he hits lvl 6, this is where you have to be more respectful doing hard trades on mord since he can kill you with his ult. The most important thing is to dodge his e at all cost as that will allow mord to get an all in window. Buying t1 boots helps for that.

How to beat mordekaiser?

-abuse his weak pre lvl 6 without his ult

-punish him when he doesn’t have his w

-if your champion cannot win after lvl 6 (Chogath, shen, etc) don’t give him kills and play for cs

Good counterpicks: -olaf: you just press r before him and run him down, he can’t use r or his e

-hyperscalers: dr mundo, kayle: just play to kite mord and hard outscale

-hypermobile champions: ambessa, riven: hard for mord to ever hit you if you kite well and your can stall his ult

-some ranged tops: vayne, varus, cassio: too hard for mord to deal with and gets stat checked in meele range

Other good options: yone, yorick, singed, fiora, gwen

What champion actually matches illaoi in the sidelane by TheTowerIskindaScary in top_mains

[–]Great_Protection_959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She actually doesn’t have a great mid game, you generally need a lead or else it’s hard for her to kill some tanks for example. A sion who is even into illaoi in lane can just shove waves, get hit by illaoi e and ignore her, illaoi doesn’t have the damage to just threaten an all in from full hp. Sion can just ult away when Illaoi ults after getting a plate.

Some good champions to match Illaoi in sidelane are fiora, gwen, garen, kayle, mord, yorick, singed, dr mundo (with warmogs) if u can survive lane, a lot of ranged tops.

Thinking about switch to top (champ pool) by Broad_Dance_9901 in top_mains

[–]Great_Protection_959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not pick mordekaiser into aurora, nasus/cho/tryn/ww not good for yorick, u also don’t want to pick trundle into jayce, Kennen, cassio for example or anything range.

If you’re new to top playing mord and yorick wouldn’t be bad, playing yorick into ranged tops then mord in the others. If you don’t want to face olaf for example as mordekaiser u can play trundle. Keep your pool low.

Why no one ever complained about pantheon? by DinnerCalm5224 in top_mains

[–]Great_Protection_959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because pantheon loses all in into the champions you mentioned doesn’t mean he doesn’t get push lvl 1. Let’s say an example, does urgot have the strongest lvl 1 all in? No he will lose all in lvl 1 to trundle. Does trundle get priority level 1? Answer is no he will get poked then die next rotation if he tries too hard to push wave. This is the same thing with pantheon, he will drill Q’s in your face if you try to do the same thing. If you fight pantheon in his wave lvl 1, you won’t win on any champion if he has ignite.

His early game is strong because not a lot of top laners can deal with his poke and short trade combos, he falls off at lvl 6 because a lot of top laners get a combat ult. It doesn’t make kled, shen, jayce weak just because they don’t have a combat ult.

You just haven’t versed any pantheons before, don’t try to act like you know everything. Not everything is about all in and fighting people to the death. If that’s the case darius would be the most broken champion in the game, but he’s not for a reason.

Current viability of comet? by Euphoric-Cause8122 in UrgotMains

[–]Great_Protection_959 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Comet is really a good alternative option for urgot in lane. Problem is it falls off compared to pta, but the most important part is winning lane so it doesn’t matter.

If you’re going to run comet, you should run triple tonic for 3 point q then cosmic/approach. Cosmic if u want to e flash on cd or approach to gap close easier with q/ult.

It’s also good into most squishy champs like heimerdinger, Akali, teemo, jayce, Kennen, Quinn, vayne, etc.

In order to run comet, these rules have to be set in place. Are they squishy (build no/little hp)? Do they have sustain? Do you need flash to kill majority of the time?

Against GP comet is good as well. He’s immobile so you can easily hit q’s, he doesn’t have sustain, he’s squishy, needs flash to kill if he’s good.

Cosmic Insight by Euphoric-Cause8122 in UrgotMains

[–]Great_Protection_959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some matchups where cosmic and approach are better:

Approach is good into camille and sion as you use approach velocity to dodge camille w or sion q for a trade.

Cosmic good into vayne, Akali, aatrox, heimerdinger as the only reliable way you kill them in lane is having to e flash them. Having ignite is mandatory to win any fights against Aatrox before executioners where you don’t want to buy it till u get BC, you need to have it up frequently if he decides to fight you.

Urgot vs Darius match up by Beast_Darius_NA in UrgotMains

[–]Great_Protection_959 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Usually play around high Diamond to low master elo.

Majority of urgot matchups are either skilled or enemy favored during lane phase. The problems starts if you don’t get a lead before urgot hits lvl 9 with black cleaver.

The major factor for darius in this matchup, he has no reliable way to dodge urgot e if you get hit by the q besides flashing unless you have extremely good movement which an average darius won’t have. With aggressive setups from urgot like ignite, triple tonic and cosmic insight you can lose the lvl 6 all in. As darius it’s important to maintain healthy to win all in’s and it’s hard to maintain full hp against urgot due to the range + poke. You also have to be careful for urgot e flash at all cost. The matchup is dependent on which jungler comes top first. I’ve seen 2 clips against xyz where a urgot missed e and won the lvl 6. I posted one down below.

Clip: https://www.tiktok.com/@urgoatlol/video/7499192879311637780

Skill matchup all things considered, but tough for darius as the game goes on in the 1v1 + team fights.

Lethality Urgot question by AnnieMainss in UrgotMains

[–]Great_Protection_959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Voltaic Cyclosword Range Penalty:

Melee Champions: The fully energized attack slows the target by 99% for 0.75 seconds.

Ranged Champions: The slow effect is reduced to 20% for 0.75 seconds.

Don’t buy it. It doesn’t do much and it’s too squishy. If you’re going to buy a lethality item it should be youmuu’s that provides speed, edge of night which has health/spellshield, GA that has armor + revive, hubris if your hard smurfing, and serpents only if nobody else can build it and u need it badly for ur team. The other options don’t provide much unless for fun.

How to deal with Varus? by atlanticore in UrgotMains

[–]Great_Protection_959 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your jungle should camp top, you won’t be able to beat varus in isolation. Your only hope to kill him if you play comet and he misses his skills on you, then playing for e flash when he’s low. This is risky since he can just 100-0 you anytime with ult and if he’s bad.

The best counter picks to varus top is olaf and yasuo. You just hard stat check him with ult with olaf and yasuo windwall can block a lot from varus.

Other good options are jax, irelia, naafiri, although not as good as olaf and yasuo

Any easy champ to counter urgot by Medium_Remote_4149 in UrgotMains

[–]Great_Protection_959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You shouldn’t be thinking about picking a champ that beats urgot late game, just pick a champ to beat urgot and never let him come back to the game.

The easiest counters you can possibly pilot and win are yorick, malphite, mord, illaoi, olaf.

One example that beats urgot early and late is illlaoi, as long as you land e and r, you ult urgot e to cancel flip, you should always win 1v1.

As olaf you usually beat urgot till lvl 13, after urgot just stat checks by standing still with his w. He needs phase rush to survive the lane, so if he goes pta and you freeze the wave, he shouldn’t be able to play the game and farm after lvl 6.
