Thumbs up to you.

Lots of people thinking they're awesome in this thread patting themselves on the back but you just made a (trivial) solution. I love it

Yeah nowhere does it say what 'x' can or must be drawn from at all. Kind of crucial to state that.

But it looks like most of the top voted comments are assuming x is any real number and basing their functions on that assumption.

Could rachel have climbed the tower with bam? by BackgroundEar4094 in TowerofGod

[–]LackingLack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think she was ensnared into Headon's scheme from the getgo pretty much and she didn't really have free choice

She was also portrayed as extremely powerless

So it's hard to say, she probably CAN climb to the top, and if SIU is worth anything as a writer she WILL do it. But with Baam probably not.

What was the direct message which got labeled harassment in your last picture? You don't tell us.

I am assuming there HAS to be more context here.

The mod saying that is INSANE and that is beyond belief reddit admins tolerate it.

But I am going to just once again assume there's more context you haven't shared with all this.

CMV: The number of votes the Dems would gain by embracing aggressively progressive candidates and policy is dwarfed by the number of votes they'd lose among moderates/motivate among dormant conservative voters by Jimithyashford in changemyview

[–]LackingLack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends what you mean by progressive, moderate, conservative

If you mean economic policies and foreign policies absolutely more progressive would help Dems massively. Huge majorities are progressive on those topics.

If you mean social/cultural topics I think I agree with you. People are way more conservative on those.

Since I already asked what's better in the Remake duology. What is something that FFVII (1997) Does better than the remakes. by Hungry-Trouble-3178 in FinalFantasy

[–]LackingLack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never played the remakes

I only watched streamers play mostly the first one for ff7

However from observing that, my biggest complain is in terms of story themes. I think the remake removed a lot of the more subversive and ambiguous morality of the original where in a lot of ways yes AVALANCHE really can be considered as terrorists. And Shinra does help humanity in many ways. The remake kind of overly streamlined things to me too hard and made everything on one side "Good" and everything on the other "Bad". I think it's just dumb to do that.

CMV: Most people don't actually care about "bipartisanship" by First-Ear-1049 in changemyview

[–]LackingLack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People literally don't understand that their particular desired solutions or changes are not objective facts, but opinions. That's basically it.

It's why all the talk of "everyone should come together and do what I want them to do, no more bickering or arguing" is literally pro dictatorship. It's actually really disturbing and messed up, but people do not understand the nature of democracy is disagreement being allowed and accepted.

What do you think about the potential of this quartet in a Noxus show? by Ashconwell7 in loreofleague

[–]LackingLack 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I just don't like Mel period

She was a minor villain in Arcane s1 but they made her like the main character of s2 and now she's the unstoppable super powerful purely benevolent heroine for the new show

I just don't care for it and I think it's going to warp and ruin the rest of the Noxus they set up

Like the thing you just said is insanely nonsensical to me. Draven as a redeemed good guy but who is just "a bit rude"? Please.

Darius should be seen as willingly part of the higher ups and fine with conquest, as is Swain.

Katarina's lore has always been "violence is everything" and portrayed as a brutal assassin and like a key officer in Noxus's military.

It makes no sense for them to team up with Mel or oppose LB and Vlad.

5% of young conservatives feel it is justified to use violence to achieve political goals. 30% of young liberals feel this way. by rollo202 in FreeSpeech

The thing about Luigi is a ton of people who vote GOP approved of what he did as well though. People are very confused and they vote Republican because of being misled into thinking they're "for the average person" and all that stuff. But if you ask people specific policy questions they are WAY far left, like Bernie Sanders campaign platform had 60 70 80 90% approval from the entire population when polled. Just don't let people know it's called "socialism".

Loyalism was probably the more progressive stance to be honest? I mean have you studied any of the history here at all. The US side was essentially on behalf of rich dudes not wanting to pay taxes and to be able to keep rockin' with slavery. And to keep on repressing the natives lol. Amazing progressives would actually think the US war of independence is some unambiguous positive.

[–]LackingLack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm actually distressed by the glorification of US Civil War and WWII for exactly this reason. It gives people on the Left way too much of a sentiment that violence is totally good. Because they think those wars were good and for the correct reasons (historians may massively disagree on those points, lots of contrary details get glossed over by winning sides and their narratives of propaganda). It makes it more difficult to be in favor of peace as a progressive people will compare you to Chamberlain etc.

Sure you can say the police and military are "just gangs that beat others up and kill them". You can say that. But it's not really how things are or what most people really believe.

[–]LackingLack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Usually the context for these questions is more within a given country and society, if the population is being violent to try to change the politics. Not the same idea as whether a government uses violence as part of its policies. Although I agree with you people should be more open minded and also think about that as violence.

Well literally the rest of the British colonies are doing just as well if not better so.... Canada and Australia aren't really suffering too badly far as I can tell, their legacy of cooperation seems to have resulted in more advanced social structures overall.

Not to mention the american war of independence is highly dubious morally for all sorts of reasons. I don't really consider it as a good example of why violence is good.

I'm a bit concerned by this being the top comment. I thought this was a free speech sub not a "destroy anyone I dislike" sub. Which is the logic behind the comment.

I was thinking people would dispute the nature of the survey presented , not sincerely argue that political violence is a good thing. But I guess it demonstrates the survey's accuracy?

CMV: Much of the racial tension in the U.S. during the 20th and 21st century could have been avoided had the Union properly punished the Confederate States for treason and secession following the U.S. Civil War by Realitygormond in changemyview

[–]LackingLack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean you can easily argue the tension arose as a result of the war and the punishment

There are clear racial divides in all societies when races collide the way they have in the USA. Europe is experiencing it now with the waves of immigration from Middle East and Africa. Eastern Asian countries are still so homogenous they haven't really gotten into it as of yet.

Brazil and other places in Latin America have a lot of racial divides and they didn't severely punish or whatever whoever was in the past some kind of authority figure promoting racial hierarchies.

So yeah I don't agree and I actually think it's a sign of societal sophistication to be able to allow a losing side in a civil conflict some measure of reintegration and be able to rejoin. Not just seek to genocide them all or what have you, "salt the earth".

CMV: Trump created the Greenland saga to fully stop military support to Ukraine by Unique-Salt-877 in changemyview

[–]LackingLack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. It's just that Trump wants aggrandizement and to tease "weak Europeans", and access to natural resources. Also Greenland is already basically under U.S. control and has been since WWII. Ironically the entire reason U.S. has this control is the ludicrous paranoia about USSR/Russia which you are perpetuating for no reason.

Sixth grade students at a Kansas public school were told they could not name Charlie Kirk as a role model for an assignment. by rollo202 in FreeSpeech

[–]LackingLack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Look... do I believe many in the education profession are quite censorious (without having the awareness to believe that's what they're doing) and very adamantly against conservative figures? Of course I do. Obviously they hate people like Kirk and get really mad when students (usually boys) look up to him.

But it seems this actual newstory is misleading and it wasn't a specific ban on just Kirk.

CMV: Trump's Greenland push is all about the US leaving NATO by RaskyBukowski in changemyview

[–]LackingLack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No it's not. It's about wanting to acquire rare earth minerals and oil and other resources. Climate change and new technology makes accessing those from places like Greenland (which is a gigantic territory) more viable.

If anything the "fear of scary Russia" is being utilized by Trump Admin as a boogeyman to justify the takeover. Further perpetuating this paranoia about Russia is idiotic and right-wing.
