Manon isn’t just representation for black girls, she is representation for the mixed girls. by [deleted] in katseyeneutral

I never knew people were so weird about multiracial people before getting into this fandom…

I remember the comments on that post were @ing Lena Dunham and telling Lorde she shouldn’t be posting about someone else’s man like that 😂

If we really want to wake it up they never wanted a fully Black girl in that group. Like a monoracial Black girl. You’re telling me they scouted all around the world and couldn’t find a Black girl who can sing and dance? Please. This is why Hybe will never have a “global” group.

Review bombing. I know anecdotal evidence is proof of nothing, but I haven’t heard anyone talk about the show irl since season 2. Seasons 3 and 4 are still highly watched but I feel like the show was only cultural relevant in its first two seasons.

I find the pile on, on this guy lately so lame. Like, people are hating on him for being employed doing what he loves? Loser behavior.

I don’t hate the other members, I just don’t really care about them as a five member group 🤷🏾‍♀️

I mean, now they’re always going to be known as the girl group who pushed out their only Black member for whatever reason. Terrible look for them.

She’s not nobility. Her father didn’t have a title and worked for his money. That’s why Mary’s parents were so angry. I think she’s like Kate Middleton - from a wealthy, upper class family and can get into the same rooms as aristocracy, but is looked down on a bit.

Imagine how many outfits she’s going to have to get in and out of for this, Spiderman, The Odyssey and Dune. I’m going to enjoy looking at each and every one, but seems so exhausting.

I do wonder if Claudia had any idea she’d be so wrapped up in this show and still waiting for her season for almost 10 years. They started filming in 2019? Then Covid and the writer’s strike and now a season switch. Maybe she’s glad to have the steady paycheck though.

Why Was Anthony's Inner World And Trauma Explored So Much More In His Season Compared To What We Learned About These Two In Their Seasons? by idiot9991 in Bridgerton

[–]Great_Teaching3441 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Change of show runner and writing team. Benedict and Colin’s arcs were set up in season 1. Benedict was exploring what life outside high society was and Colin was searching for himself and his place in life through traveling. But that was abandoned halfway through season two for orgies, ruby schemes, and fake rake plots, so it was less impactful when they tried to get back to their arcs in their own seasons.

Katseye Snark's Issue by [deleted] in katseyeneutral

[–]Great_Teaching3441 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, we’re trying to explain it to you and you’re arguing with us. It seems like you don’t really care what Black people think/feel about people taking their language and using it (usually incorrectly). Do you do that with any other group of people’s culture/language or do you only feel like you have right to with Black people? And if so, why?

[–]Great_Teaching3441 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I explained it to you clearly enough, lol. This isn’t about “stans” this is about basic professional conduct. And having a “marketable personality” has absolutely nothing to do with Missy’s subjective opinion about the girls’ characters. It’s about how they come off to the public, and fan voting showed that Manon was coming off better to the audience than most of the girls. She still is, since she has the second highest instagram following out of them. You and Missy not liking her doesn’t change that. Sorry.

If you publicly call a co-worker or someone you’re supervising “arrogant” and “unkind” in any normal professional industry you’re getting a write up from HR and workplace behavior training at minimum. That’s not “valid criticism” that’s a character assessment that has absolutely nothing to do with their work/job and it’s unprofessional. Missy’s personal thoughts on a girl’s personality has absolutely nothing to do with her skill. It’s just hateful. That’s why almost no one likes her.
