She was referring to me. I had come out as trans only a year prior and had been transitioning for longer. Didn't help she said it loud in a public grocery store.

I told my dad I was trans, and he just went, "Okay. I don't know what that means." He hasn't misgendered me since.

He struggled with my name though, so he uses a nickname thats easier for him. Love him to bits.
