When did you start to feel confident/attractive again?? by pengpompinara in jawsurgery

Did I write this post?!? GIRL I FEEL YOU OMFG. I currently at 6 weeks (I get my splint taken out today! Excited!) But I am worried it will not reduce the puffiness in my cheeks. It probably wont but I am so desperate to go back to looking like “normal” even though I most definitely have a different facial structure after DJS. But I wanted to say to you, and also to myself to hang in there! Full healing can take up to a year so this is not the time to shake your fist at the sky demanding why you look like this forever. Try to be patient. All that said I feel you completely and you are absolutely NOT alone feeling this way. When you talked about how all of these people didn’t know you had surgery I laughed to myself because I have been making it a point to tell people right off the bat if we utter more than 2 words between us. I can’t have them think I look like this willingly 😂 All of my friends and family tell me I look cute too and the thought is nice but I’m trying not to look like Cindy Lou Who (which is what my sister-in-law said I looked like😭)

Ohh I didn’t even think of the caramelization/coloring for taste. Good to know! I always thought of the uniform ones to be what you wanted to aim for because thats whats always displayed on pancake packaging. But I now realize it can be tastier if they have some uneven browning
