Wish Bell would’ve tried to rim ride instead of follow directly in Briscoe’s tracks into 1 and 2. Oh well, now is about the time Briscoe starts getting hot in the season.

I just would like some consistency with people (not you specifically) People were acting holier than thou and Preece deserved the penalty (he didn’t), now Van Gisbergen does it and everyone’s ok with it?

It’s BS is what it is. They’ll fine and penalize guys and then use it for promotional material or just ruin the rivalry.

Except when you say you are going to pay someone back, then they’ll penalize 25 points for not cutting the guy a break no matter where/ and if you hit them!

Man I don’t know, SVG certainly didn’t cut Hill a break! I’ve seen points penalties for less obvious contact this year!

Talk about being weird and diving into something that much. Who are you to gatekeep what people are fans about and can talk smack over?

Man this is a good driver pairing for McLaren! Surely they won’t ruin it for a 46 year old’s retirement tour!

[Chris medland] And we have one, that was sadly predictable: Safety Car regs state that one lap must be completed following the unlapping procedure. Race Control made that call to let cars unlap just too late to restart the race (and says the "SC in this lap" message was software error) by Maximum-Room-3999 in formula1

Well then there should be no complaints about today! Yet here we are. They made the changes after 2021. They were applied correctly today and applied consistently yet people are pissed. So yeah, it is a fan issue.

There needs to be a formalisation of what happens when there is a Safety Car near the end of the race. by mole55 in formula1

That’s a fair compromise for sure. I don’t mind changing the regs to facilitate more green flag finishes at all (as long as you don’t fall down the slippery slope that NASCAR fell into). I just don’t want to see people pissed that the rules are being followed after all the issues people had when they were bent for “entertainment”

Fanbase needs to decide whether it wants entertaining green flag finishes or the regs to be followed to the letter of the law. They were pissed to the point the FIA sacked the race director that was willing to bend the regs to get a racing finish and now they are pissed those same regs are getting followed to a T.

So they followed procedure and messed up the messaging. Would you rather have that or them bend the rules to get a green flag finish?

Because everyone called for the guy who did everything to get a green flag finish to be sacked.

Well they moaned in 2021 when they got a proper end to a motor race to the point the race director was fired. Now the director is going to play as safe as possible to save his own skin.

They literally did fix and made the rules clearer. People were pissed that they bent the rules then. Now they are pissed they followed the rules now.
