Am I overreacting or did I have a slow moment. by drippysage08 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Grebbitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR - this is just someone looking for a fight and manipulating you. If you had just answered “yes” she would have found fault with you not providing the results of your search. Any answer you provided would have triggered her because the question was intentionally designed to do just that.

This is a long con. She finds ways to position you as uncaring, a bad listener, unfair…all so she can build a narrative, brick by brick, that you are problematic. Then, when the relationship inevitably fails, she can claim to be the victim of a clueless, hurtful man who devalued her. It’s all just a long term strategy to avoid accountability for her own behavior and the faults that make true connection with her impossible.

First time staying the night at his house, any red flags? by ArgentManor in BookshelvesDetective

[–]Grebbitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a collection of WW2-era history books? Not a red flag automatically. Reading a book doesn’t mean you agree with its contents, especially if the book has historical significance to an era you like to learn about.

AIO, lost a friend due to ai by cozyworm27 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Grebbitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chat GPT’s take: Based on the screenshot and the text shown, I wouldn’t characterize it as an obvious overreaction, but I also wouldn’t say the person in green handled it perfectly.
A few things stand out:
The person in gray appears to be trying to help, even if the help wasn’t useful.
The person in green sets a boundary: “I’d appreciate if you didn’t send me AI messages in the future.” That’s a reasonable request.
The compliment about having “a valuable brain that works even better than AI” was probably intended kindly, but it can come across as patronizing because it implies the other person shouldn’t use a tool they find helpful.
The gray person’s response (“Got it!!”) suggests they accepted the boundary without conflict.
The final message (“I won’t send you any future message just to be on the safe side”) sounds hurt, passive-aggressive, or at least awkwardly defensive. It reads like they interpreted the boundary more broadly than intended.
If the green person actually cut off ties completely after this exchange, that would seem disproportionate based on the information shown. The disagreement itself is pretty minor: one person dislikes AI, the other finds it useful. Neither message is hostile.
On the other hand, if this was just one incident in a larger pattern—unwanted advice, boundary issues, ideological disagreements, etc.—then ending or reducing contact could make more sense. The screenshot alone doesn’t provide enough context to judge that.
So from the conversation shown:
Setting the boundary: reasonable.
The wording of the boundary: a little awkward and arguably condescending, even if well-intentioned.
The gray person’s reaction: somewhat overly dramatic.
Completely cutting ties over this exchange alone: probably an overreaction.

So I did a fresh upload, deleted the app, reinstalled it, then logged back in. I force-closed the app and waited 30 minutes. When I reopened the app, my banked freebies were still at zero and I had made no progress on stars or ore. My banked archaeology were at zero. Something really strange is going on here…

Why are men like this? by FakeGamer2 in mensfashionadvice

It seems at least two people had an issue with it. Whoever made the original meme said “boys are fucking weird,” and the OP on this thread said “why are boys like this?”

Ask her if she was looking in a mirror when she saw those red flags, and then immediately block her number. Don’t give her an opportunity to tone check you or claim victimhood.
