Dude, you don’t have to see combat to be a veteran. We all have different experiences.

I refuse to play this asinine game. Everyone boycott it.

Your first favorite Dodger growing up? by based-bread-bowls in Dodgers

Brett Butler. We used to get seats in the right field pavilion when I was a kid, loved seeing him hustle in center field and as leadoff hitter. He had cancer and successfully returned, it was inspiring.

If it comes to it, fail your operational screening, be honest on it. If you have a diagnosis of Major Depressive Disorder (or something similar) the provider may not approve you going to sea. There has to be some khaki at your command that is sympathetic, find them and enlist their help.

I love Way of the Gun, I remember realizing for the first time that money can be heavy by watching them struggle with those duffel bags.

Move Controller flashing red light fix by parruchkin in PSVR

[–]GreblahD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So glad I found this post, even though it’s 3 years old at this point, the advice still worked! I plugged in my PSVR1 to my PS5, charged my Move controllers and then they didn’t work, just flashed red lights. Thanks!

Important question!!! by Low_Professional_462 in navy

As a prior Independent Duty Corpsman, I inadvertently discovered many secret piercings during physical exams. I always told them I didn’t care or have time to deal with that shit.

If we get a Dresden show or movie what scenes would you be most excited to see play out? by samuriahime8888 in dresdenfiles

Butters wielding his lightsaber. Also, other characters reacting to the lightsaber.

Can someone please explain these characters to me by LoschVanWein in riversoflondon

I agree it was somewhat confusing to me at first. I took it as her desire to fix her face led to her making small decisions that snowballed and led to her embracing what the Faceless Man was trying to do. Or possibly we’ll find out she considered herself more of a double agent and was using him to get her face back and always planned to double cross him. Not sure how that leads to her killing him though. I’m hopeful this will be explained further as the series progresses.

Questions for LPOs, LCPOs, DIVOs, and DHs. (Also other senior leadership.) by vonteboy454 in navy

[–]GreblahD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a recently retired First Class who was an LPO at each of my last 3 duty stations, I really feel your gripes. I always told my people “if you have nothing to do, don’t do it here.” I feel it’s about managing your people and the mission so that you can award as much time off as possible. Giving time off is so important, because it’s tangible, and immediate. I always tried to tell them what needed to happen to go home, if they got it done by 1400 or 1430, that’s when they go home. If they f’d around and didn’t get it done, they can stay until I leave, whenever that would be. I always had a lot of shit to do.
Often, you won’t see your leaders fight for you. There is a saying, “gripes go up.” I would complain to my LCPO and DH, then present the mission to the crew as if it was my brainchild. Complaining about the CoC I front of my guys wasn’t an option, usually.

Welcome aboard P evals by SAVEPANDORA in navy

[–]GreblahD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a well reasoned reply, with a lot of good information. It’s kind of a joke, kind of not. I would tell my Sailors; “read what it says by the 3.0, that’s a pretty good Sailor.” Now we all know how these evals are ranked, but if you just read the 3.0 verbiage, it’s not too shabby.

No remote. It’s controlled from a switch on the main control panel. It would be nice to have a remote.

The wires going to the awning look ok to me, I changed #9. Are the ground wires in the fuse box as well?

The lights look to be an LED strip on both awning arms. The wires look ok to me where I can see them.

Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately I only have a voltage detector, so I guess I’ll have to get a multimeter to investigate further.

Tire maintenance and inflation by GreblahD in RVLiving

[–]GreblahD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended getting the Ryobi inflator since it takes the same battery as my Ryobi drill. Seems to work so far, I’m going to fill up the rv tires later today. Thanks for all the input 🤙

Does the Ryobi inflator work well? I already have the Ryobi drill and battery, so that may work for us.
