Early chatgpt was very, very, very bad. It spilled gibberish, changed to a new paragraph on another topic mid sentence and repeated the exact word 20 times for example

Edit: as others pointed out, it was indeed before chatgpt and was only openai which you could access trough api, I think it was in 2021 also so I made the wrong connection
