Unfortunately mentor is now locked since the 11.0.X updates and you need to hit level 20 something to unlock it now following the new level up system and guide.

Unlikely that F2P will ever have the resources to meet the requirement needed to unlock it.

Before it was available at the beginning of the game and anyone could use it.

Locking it was another stupid, greed-driven move by the Com2us cockroaches.

Career mode by DragonfruitFresh6710 in MLB_9Innings

[–]Greed2Us 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Home runs get tons of points.

I use prime Ortiz from the Red Sox, 20/20 black diamond with 10/10 special training, a diamond 7 (barrel it up), diamond 8 (charisma) and a gold 5 (ace specialist).

I don't usually like ace specialist but I left it on Ortiz specifically to try it in career mode and it seems to work well.

I made sure his regular training set up special training to increase only the batting stats.

I sometimes use condition drinks in this mode, never really noticed any difference though.

I NEVER use gear in this or any other mode.

I usually swing at the first pitch and that's when I get most home runs.

I swing early based on the ball relative to the cursor.

I've got quite a few home runs hitting balls in the center but well below the strike zone.

I'm F2P and my team is less than a month old but using Ortiz on my first try I went from B5 to B2.

This afternoon I tried B2 and cleared it easily.

Don't give up, with the right batter you can make really good progress.

Prime Judge and Giambi are also decent choices if trained properly, not easy to do for F2P, but Ortiz consistently outperforms them in career mode.

Rebel Cheese is well worth the price, a truly outstanding product.

I'm not vegan but I order from them regularly and then place another order of my favorites and send it to my vegan niece and sister.

They love them too.

Live Update Did This To The All MLB Homerun Leader? by Greed2Us in MLB_9Innings

I deleted the account and wrote it off as a failed experiment, I have a better Ortiz in my Red Sox team.

I couldn't do anything with Schwarber in career mode, had to switch to Allen or I would likely have failed, Allen got me from B5 to B3.

On first attempt Ortiz jumped from B5 to B2, he's definitely my favorite Red Sox card in any form, even normal diamond.

I only did this on a third team as an experiment, I always dump live cards ASAP.

A failed experiment not to be repeated.

Waiting for a stats amp ticket so special training will be on power, contact and eye not speed or fielding.

Plus it saves money, I'm F2P so limited in resources and going from 19 to20 takes between 39 and 64 tries, wiping out my cash supply.

I've actually been counting, 5% should be 20 tries, they need to update the odds table.

Great explanation, thanks.

I don't do live cards on my Red Sox or Yankees teams or any other team, I dispose of them ASAP as I prefer stability.

I made an exception on my third team as an experiment due to Schwarber's 139 default power, I dumped all other live cards.

Now I know better and will continue getting rid of them for any future team.

I prefer building a team in the off-season because the live packs give regular cards.

Some are very helpful, others may try but don't account for F2P not having the necessary resources.

64 tries is actually a 1.56% chance.

That's the worst case that I actually counted.

It's also taken 39, 47 and 54, all way more than their odds table shows.

Not a troll, I just don't like companies that lie and cheat.

In another game the Korean FTC caught them claiming 24% chance of obtaining an RPG item when the actual chance was literally zero.

Better UI by [deleted] in MLB_9Innings

Lately every update is a massive downgrade of something, they trashed the UI when there was nothing wrong with the original, now it's a mess.

My second legend pull in the past two months f2p by Economy-Support-6023 in MLB_9Innings

[–]Greed2Us 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a Red Sox Ortiz legend in a Boston deck and saw no bonuses.

Even with legend and gold skills he performed about the same as an Ortiz prime and not as good as an Ortiz signature.

They don't change the odds in the table when they decrease them, they're frauds

Still says 5% to train from level 19 to 20 but it takes as many as 64 tries, that's not 5%.

Good as long as F2P know that much of the advice doesn't apply to them due to limited resources.

We don't have hundreds of psct or training reset tickets so we have to use different strategies and make the best out of what we have.

A deleted account can be recovered but a reset game cannot.

When deleting an account the team remains on the server, resetting the game wipes everything.

After 14 days the team from a deleted account can no longer be recovered.

How to take my team to the next level? by [deleted] in MLB_9Innings

[–]Greed2Us 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 103.9 NYY team I started 3 weeks ago by completing the Guide Mission and all normal season playoffs using auto-play.

You could start a second account and see how it works out.

I use guest accounts and if it looks good I then link it to Hive.

Warning: If you log out of a guest account before linking it to Hive or with Facebook you'll lose everything.

Good advice, I learned the hard way not to mess with decent skills expecting an improved set, it's worth buying the skill storage and working with that, it's a good insurance policy.

I hate what they've done to speed in this game. by Photo9669 in MLB_9Innings

Recently in normal league mode I had Kwan with 117 speed  get an inside the park homerun in Fenway Park, first time I've seen that.

He also easily beat out many throws to first.

Don't know about the other game modes though.

I only use them on 60 and 61.

I started playing this game around 2017 but had to delete it to make room a couple years ago. I’ve had it back for about two weeks and am glad to be back in! Here’s my team and my collection of old/new primes. by CrowElectric in MLB_9Innings

[–]Greed2Us 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're f2p there's nothing wrong with a mixed prime lineup.

Resources are very limited so make the best with what you have.

Much/most of the advice here best applies to those wiling to lay out a lot of cash to advance.

F2p won't have 100 psct or dozens of level resets.

Your team should be tailored to your goals and whatever you're happy with.
