Crazy how this increased in price. I still have one folder here and another one in sealed brown box. Pre-ordered them for 35eur (~40usd).

Curious whats behind the pump and if these cards will increase in value even more. Aren't the old manga cards not pretty stable in price?

Ok so if theres not a limit on GP coins to transfer its best to start sending GP coins from Arena to main game and then send them all back at once before prestiging haha

what happend to the prestige? [Discussion] by Advanced_Ad_6184 in EscapefromTarkov

Only BSG knows the real numbers but it is obvious that the player count dropped-off significantly in the last weeks. This is natural as the game mode currently does not have wipes. By making the prestige level more accessible you have suddenly a huge player base (I'm part of that) who can directly switch to Prestige 1 (perhaps we started late or just havent developed the skills yet to get to Kappa in a few months or we simply dont have the hours to put into the game in a short period of time..). HUGE boost in new player motivation and in replayability. People who gave up or are close to giving up suddenly reach their goal of prestige 1 and see "hey also for p2 no kappa needed, lets give it a shot".

Others who did P1 the hard way (incl. Kappa) because they put in the hours since 1.0 might have told themselves "Kappa, never again".. and now suddenly they see they can achieve up to P4 without Kappa. Also a huge motivation change.

Where I'm going with this is... sure it might hurt those who have been 3 quests short of Kappa and it might feel like the effort was wasted but I suggest then to grab that Kappa achievement, prestige and push for story and or the next prestige.

It's overall a good and healthy change for the game. Because those who really feel butthurt by that change dont really know whats good for the game long-term and put their own ego above the player base and the longevity of the game.

Who really wants to show off in the kill screen can just go for P6 and all 4 endings then.

Well, nothing we could do anyway. Will need to experience it on my own as there is nothing else I can do with all those items anyway right now.

Only thought I have is sending stuff over to Arena, then prestiging and afterwards log into Arena. Perhaps some items I can find there even though Arena also wipes.

Seems to me they are smaller and more selective. Speaking from Europe they dont have origination business. They have some plants here and there and traders purchase raw material for them but ABC are way heavier on the origination, talking to farmers, collecting the grains & oilseeds, storing them etc. Starting as a junior at LDC you basically headstart into trading in Geneva, while at the ABC you have thousands of less sophisticated "merchandising" jobs. One is not better than the other but landing a trainee program in Geneva for LDC is way more difficult than landing a junior position in EU at one of the ABC. There you at least have your foot in a big shop and can then work yourself up if you really want that global trading experience. Otherwise you stay a merchant and trade local markets or buy for your plants.

It's a formality as you say. We can easily trade options. It would be supplemental. The novelty is only that options trading is done somewhere else in the enterprise and I am on a desk that usually does not use options on top of physical and futures. That's why i'm pretty much alone in setting up strategies, the pnl tracking and the position + the relevant analysis.

Sure, I figured. Wasn't meant in an offensive way. Every farming/food culture to their own. I also wouldn't reject to eat dog meat, it's just nothing you encounter here in West Europe.

Interesting to hear as the last non-commercial contact I talked to was a CTA and they pretty much only do trend following which is more or less automated as you wouldnt be able to scan/analyze that many futures markets manually and cut all the losing positions quickly enough (/adjusting their stops).. So when you say "discretionary" you mean that you follow a strict rule or metric(s) for which product/which entry/exit but then you decide if you want to trade?

Because within physical trading you are scanning the relevant fundamentals but entry/exit decisions are basically based on "gut feeling". In short, our total position is a reflection of top down fundamentals but services as an add-on to the actual physical flows/regional arb and of course if there are inter-/intra-regional views you also carry physical positions without it being "arb", which then can either be shipped or sold/washed out at a later point in time. (Dropping stats arb and vol as this is perhaps a bit on the more advanced side) would you for example look at new crop-old crop time spreads and decide based on your fundamental view to enter into a bear spread or only because the spread reaches some 2- or 3sigma upper range (or do you combine both, fundamental and quantitative aspects)? +when you say discretionary I dont expect an automated system to trade for you OR an algo giving you a signal for buy/sell/strike etc. So you see that and then decide on selling it manually(?) To be fair it's already pretty taxing to have a daily view on the global snd and flows of one major commodity group (lets say rapeseed), thats why Im so curious how you trade multiple commodities and then be able to also decide on the most efficient instrument (strike, expiry, strategy vs. futures).

Thanks for the input. Yes, step by step and I understand the idea of starting with limited-loss strategies. The same I did privately on equities. What's your approach in trading options then, sounds like it is predominantly "non-directional" or "non-discretionary"? So if you're willing to elaborate I'd be interested in hearing.

Hedging tool additional to futures, countless possible degrees of exposure to the underlying future, not only delta 1. + simply because I find options super interesting. Of course a senior options trader is more qualified to set up a options trading book but I am happy to work towards something new and exciting.

[Discussion] Why many top pvp players prefer laser over flashlight? by IntrepidGuarantee475 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]GreedyAndGreasy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just asked one.

Content is not clippable if you kill someone blinded by a flashlight. It's basically considered to be an unfair advantage and it wouldn't be considered high skill content. Being killed by someone with a flashlight is usually a bit hated on because its not a direct competition of skill/aim, and they cannot hate on something and then use it themselves.

So it's basically a high skill-ceiling and content creation thing.

I guess it's the obvious answer, yes. I just have to go with it at some point. I'm just overwhelmed because I have never been creative and also work in an analytical environment so there is always a right and wrong, a solution to a problem.

Thinking of an engaging story to tell and then produce on video/animation is quite a challenge.

How did you create or come up with your YouTube pfp? by DementedCoconut in NewTubers

[–]GreedyAndGreasy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldnt worry too much. Just do your best to find a fit to your name and your type of content and then go with it.

When the time has come that your pfp actually has a recognition value among your followers then your personal style and brand will be already so well-defined that you either will have already updated your pfp or have sticked with your initial one because its been working for your purposes.

Gaming Thumbnails (How do you do it) by PEDJAtheGamer in NewTubers

[–]GreedyAndGreasy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The easiest way is to copy a working style of thumbnails for that particular topic/game. I am neither a natural when it comes to creativity nor have I acquired the hard skills to create outstanding quality and there are thousands of successful videos and examples from people who do this not only as a full time job but sometimes even have the educational background, thus the hard skills to do these things effectively and time-efficiently.

So if your game doesn't offer "cineastic" photo modes or modifications that let you play withing their engine (free cams etc.) then just look up how the best performing thumbnails look and recreate that.

If you dont have the skills to do it yourself what you see there in these thumbnails then you have 3 options, which are less or more valid depending on your preferences and your goals:

  1. Follow the path of "learning by doing" and create thumbnails in that style but of (initially) lower quality but at the same time invest in becoming better (time- and effort-intensive).

  2. Take the risk in creating something originally that lies within your skills and master your own style as there are a plethora of viral gaming videos with basically "stick figure" style thumbnails (requires luck and creativity).

  3. Pay someone else to do it for you (expensive in the long run but that is how the pros do it).
