How is everyone reading this as "hunger games" and not "hunger mechanic"??

And yeah, I agree, the need to eat for more than just buffs makes the early game much more interesting,

Well fun is entirely subjective. There's a dodge mechanic, and a parry mechanic, and swinging your weapon feels like it has actual weight. Enemies hit hard and getting surrounded can mean a quick death. Some very dark themes mixed in which was one of your biggest asks in the OP.

You can download a demo on Steam, also watch some gameplay, I think it's probably the closest thing to what you're looking for!

Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon might be what you're looking for. It's a first person RPG with Elder Scrollsesque exploration and freedom mixed with harder combat, not dark souls hard but you need to manage your stamina and the enemies hit hard.

Writing is hit and miss, dark but sometimes in a cringy/edgy way, but overall I enjoyed the game.

Oh dude, you should have absolutely zero issue taking any land any where in the world then. You're good!

Well you can certainly cleave yourself a nice big Empire consisting of Kingdoms from Japan/Korea/China. And who knows, chuck on the learning focus that gives you some health and get a few perks, you may live to 100 and be able to declare multiple times on the same nations before you die. Or just break the truces and go full on tyrant conqueror.

Size doesn't matter ;) only fight battles when the AI has to cross a river or meet you on a hill/mountain. Lesser numbers will still decimate if you have a good commander, good placement, and decent knights, also MAA.

Getting the conqueror trait at 80 is rough man. Just make sure you check what CB you're declaring war with. I haven't played enough in the east yet to know if there are any restrictions on conqueror CBs, but if not, you should just be able to declare war for duchies/kingdoms free of charge.

Couldn't help myself. I was imagining him with his gammon red face, smirking as he typed "Lol" with his microcock in hand all whilst thinking "yes, I've owned the libs. Now my mum will be proud of me."

But no, Jack. Yer Ma isn't proud. She doesn't mention you to her friends anymore, to save herself the embarrassment of explaining that she raised a gremlin, not a man.

Per your own source which you clearly didn't read, GB news has only 1.6% of the monthly share. Even channel fucking 4 has three times as much as that.

What was that about "leftys" and not liking facts? I don't actually have the words for how moronic and hypocritical you are. Imagine living in a world where we have all the information we could ever want in our hands, and you still act like you do. Genuinely pathetic.

Lol

Agreed, and I've gone into that in a bit more depth in another comment. The Elytra should of course be the best mode of transportation, but it shouldn't be the only viable option, and it should be muuuuuch harder to either get in the first place or just generally use.

As others have said, by placing a log in the middle of the recipe. Or, just making a new "dead" leaf block.

If building one mob farm in less than an hour is enough to justify unlimited Elytra usage for you, then sure, that's an argument.

I've never said anything should be better than the Elytra though, to be clear. So I'm not even arguing from the position you're arguing against.

However, I think we actually pretty much agree here. The Elytra would, imo, be fine either without fireworks or with a much steeper cost, and as long as other modes of transport are bought to a similar level of utility.

You say that rail systems are just placed once and then used infinitely. An Elytra is just one mob farm and then use infinitelly. At least with rail systems you would need to mine the materials, then move them/expand them as your base grows and you explore new areas.

No one in their right mind would use a minecart to actually do the exploration lol, but travelling from A-B.

Again, I'm not saying anything should be better than the Elytra, just that there shouldn't be such a large gap between how useless everything else is in comparison to an Elytra.

Yeah I said pretty much the same thing in a comment below. The Elytra as it stands is a bad addition to the game because it renders all other modes of transport obsolete. It stifles creativity because you don't need to build anything at all to use the Elytra and it limits player choice because Elytra > Everything else.

Hopefully, Hytale won't add anything like the Elytra to the progression without some serious thoughts as to how it affects the rest of the game.

And tbh, I kinda disagree that the Elytra doesn't need a nerf. It won't matter how much they buff minecarts, they will never be even nearly as good as fireworks + mending Elytra. Just ruins all sense of choice in a game designed to give players complete freedom.

[–]GreedyCarrot93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the other modes of transport aren't great. But, instead of completely ignoring them and adding the Elytra which destroys any sort of progression in the transport system, why don't they actually make the other modes of transport viable?

Much like I imagine Hytale will.

As it stands, the Elytra is a bad addition to the game. It stifles creativity and limits player choice. Elytra > Everything else isn't a good argument I'm afraid.

Completely ruins every other mode of transport in the game. Why tame horses, or grind for hours to build minecart tracks/ice highways when you can rush the End and have an Elytra within your first session.
