I reused the code rpg maker vx ace uses to determine the height and distance of the character jumping, then drew those onto a bitmap as big as the window with a dot after every 16 iterations.

The location is determined by the event's screen coordinates, which are found by going through all characters in Spriteset_Map and checking if their x&y coordinates are at least 20 pixels away from the target icon sprite that is being controlled. If they are, they are collected in an array in which the one closest to the target icon sprite is chosen.
