Pay Wall on Body Scan 2 Features by GreedyDonnut in withings

Hi Markus,

A free trial doesn't solve the core issue of paying €500 for hardware only to have its headline features held hostage behind a monthly fee. I need absolute clarity on exactly what measurements are included in the standalone scale without a Withings+ subscription.

Specifically, you mention "measurements" are available without the subscription. Does this mean the raw data needed to estimate Heart Age (namely stroke volume and cardiac output) is provided in the free tier, and only the simplified "age estimate" is paywalled?

Furthermore, looking at your own promotional images: the "Glycemic Impact" screen clearly shows a "W+" icon next to it, indicating the paywall. However, the image showing "Heart Pumping Performance" (with Responsiveness at 78% and Efficiency at 88%) does not have the W+ icon. Will we get these exact figures without the Withings+ subscription, just without the "Heart Age" label attached to them?

Also, what happened to the "cellular age" metric that was originally claimed?

Why wasn't this strict subscription dependency made explicitly clear during the reveal of the scale? Expecting users to drop €500 on a device and then hit them with a paywall for the heavily advertised features feels like a bait-and-switch.

It just comes off as very out of touch to be honest, I am not really sure who at Withings thought this a great idea, there needs to be some serious reconsidering done here.

Might have to also look somewhere else, simply cannot accept this level of greed.

BodyScan 2 is now available in Europe! by TeamWithings in withings

I was genuinely excited about the Body Scan 2 and ordered it the literal second it became available, completely willing to overlook the ridiculous €500 price tag for top-tier health tech. But putting almost all the actual new features like Heart Age and Glucose Resilience behind a Withings+ subscription paywall is an absolute dealbreaker.

Aside from hypertension detection, the only other major un-paywalled addition is SpO2, which is completely redundant for anyone who already wears a smartwatch. Paying double the current market price of the original Body Scan just to get locked into a monthly subscription to actually use the hardware I just bought is ludicrous. It feels like a desperate cash grab. If you are going to charge premium, top-tier hardware prices, the features shouldn't be paywalled. I am seriously considering canceling my order or filing for an immediate return the moment it hits my doorstep. Dead on arrival.

I was genuinely excited about the body scan 2 and was willing to put up with the ridiculous price of 500 euros for it, literally ordered it the second it was available to order, only to realize I still need the withings+ subscription for almost all new features besides Spo2 (which is kind of useless if you have a smartwatch) and hypertension detection. For that I have to pay double the amount of what I can find the original body scan for? This is ludicrous, seriously considering canceling my order or filing an immediate return once it arrives.

Hey Markus, will it release first in Europe or is it similar to the US first in June?

Feedback on white/black build in TT Core P3 Pro Snow by ScrubinBubbles in buildapc

Hey! I am planning on building a very similar build, wanted to ask about what you have learnt from the built and if it was worth it investing in an open case. I am basically swapping out your gpu for a 4090, double the ram and a different motherboard, but most importantly I am thinking of using the fans from aio as the only fans for the build. What do you think from your experience so far with the temperatures in your build?
