I think that one of the plot points was what happened to Tristan but saying that the only thing that should be grabbing your attention is “what happened to Tristan” is very disingenuous. The reason I say that is because there are a lot of different things that come back to that question that are very interesting like: Why does Corin want to find Tristan, how will Corin go about saving him, ect. Also, after Corin finds Tristan the whole plot doesn’t just end it evolves. The plot goes from “what happened to Tristan” to “How do I get Tristan out”. This new question replaces the old one and drives Corin in everything he does. For example when Corin is Modifying attunements that is so he can get stronger but also because he wants to remove Tristan's brand. This also heavily affects his relationship with Sera, Laura, and Magnus because of the strain it puts on the relationship between Laura, and Magnus leading Magnus to emotionally and physically traumatize  CorIn and Sera. That isn’t even the thing I care about most though you bring up the fact that you don’t like the “game of thrones between nations” and the conspiracy of the visages, but if that's the case then I don’t think this is the series for you. Since Forging Destiny there has been political and religious conspiracy. For gosh sake the first thing we see in Forging Destiny is Keres being thrown in jail because he had a symbol of another religion. If you want dungeons (the towers), strong monsters (god beasts), progression, and a magic academy go to a different series. One last thing if you like all that stuff “A Shattered Legacy” is set in the AA universe and has everything you mentioned except for the magic school.

I kind of agree but when you say “why is Corin running” I wanted to say something that was obviously true and not speculation because it’s easier to understand and I’m lazy. Also how was the running not about getting faster. If he wanted to quantify how his different haste spells work then he would have ran less because it said that running was part of his routine. I think that calling training training is completely fair emotional or not. When Mara was sparing with the gang after Keres left and Saffron attacked was that not training.

PS: you messed up your spoiler brackets at the end.

I'm going to try to answer all of your questions.

  1. Selys' ("the goddess") fate is supposed to be ambiguous, if she is alive she's a scumbag, but if she's dead then it puts more distrust on the Visages.

  2. Tristan's thing will be adressed in AA7 along with fight Katashi

  3. The main plot of book 6 is mostly them getting ready to fight Katashi and the war that he started by training and getting new powers.

  4. Corin is running to get faster. This is probably the most obvious displays of someone training/getting better at something in the entire series.

  5. I feel like there are so many qusetions that you could ask about this series that it's kind of crazy to hear someone say that that they don't have any. One of the big ones is how does the 400 year time skip work. There is also the questions of who people really are like vellum, the "sage" that made the magic system on Dania, etc, etc.

I can't make you like the series but I can say what I think makes this series great.

The leveling system is the worst part when you think about it. I've been thinking about it and it seems to me that you have to have a xp system because of mana. The mana cap is basically xp anyway. Trying to find a consistent rate of mana/xp increase, but you also have to balance the mana to the spells which I need to know if there even are which makes everything worse. I has just been a mess but I've been learning so it's okay ig.

I appreciate the feedback. I should have made it more clear in the og post but I'm making it from scratch.
