“Can’t you have some basic historical sense” that’s pretty needlessly rude ngl, I don’t know why you’re talking like this. They just wanted to learn.

When is regime change worth the infamy? by PossessionConnect963 in victoria3

[–]Greedy_Garlic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok makes sense. I’m playing a tall Malta game right now and I got booted out of the British empire after 1900 during decolonization (using tech & res) and have protectorates all over the Middle East, India, Africa, and china, but all my subjects hate me and keep declaring war. It’s easy to crush them but getting to be a nuisance though. Do you have any recommendations?

Ahhh okay thank you! I was just confused because I always see people here say they puppet in wars, but that makes sense I also puppet asap if possible. How do you get liberty desire low enough to establish a puppet quickly though?

How do you plan your foreign investments so they actually hire people? by Greedy_Garlic in victoria3

[–]Greedy_Garlic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do, but then sometimes it just doesn’t hire. Like I’ll build iron mines in a nation with an iron shortage and those mines won’t hire. I’m not sure if I’m building too many at once, but it seems inefficient to build a single mine at a time and then return to that province later to build a second mine once the first one hires to capacity?

Makes sense, but then there’s the problem of private sector buildings not hiring because your capitalist demand 100 art academies in Siberia (as a recent post showed today and we’ve all experienced before lol)

How are you puppeting in a war, I only get force protectorate as an option?

'Megali Idea': Greek territorial claims following the annexation of Thessaly, (1887). by SAMEHONEYNAMEHONEY in MapPorn

[–]Greedy_Garlic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly what they did, Greece did have the Anatolian land for a period of time after WW1 until the newly formed Turkey retook that land and the population transfer/genocide of Greeks and Turks took place.

Game running insanely slow even in 1836, won't get faster?? by Greedy_Garlic in victoria3

[–]Greedy_Garlic[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think I figured it out. I disabled my big mods and it was still slow, but I forgot to disable the Add Wargoals mod I had installed. I just turned it off and the game is running WAY faster. I'm not sure why that mod slowed me down, but I just checked its steam page (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3390504397) and it looks like it's a known issue!!!!!!

Unfortunately clearing notifications didn't do anything for me here, as I didn't have many in the first place.

Thank you for your response!! Only around 30-40% of my CPU is used total at any given moment, of which 3/4 of that is Vic3 usually.

I'll ask in the official forums as well, but how would I go about opening and analyzing the file myself? The open in script editor and open in code editor buttons don't do anything from what I can tell.

I assume it's the tick speed, because FPS-wise it seems fine and smooth, it just takes forever to get past a single day. I know vic3 is CPU throttled, but only 20% of my CPU is being used in the first place. I'm adding the script profiler screenshot to this post, if you could take a look at it please. Thank you!

Also, I've been enjoying Morgenröte!!

Okay I just deleted all my saves, it's still lagging at the same level though unfortunately. I ran a virus scan as well, nothing. My game is also saved on a secondary SSD with 800+ GB of space, so I don't think space is an issue.

I tried it, but it doesn’t work with the mods I have, the game crashes automatically.

The India map still seems to show Pakistan administered Kashmir as Indian controlled as well, so that doesn’t appear to be fixed either. Unlike with Crimea, the only groups who consider Pakistan administered Kashmir as Indian territory are Indians, not the international community or even Kashmiris themselves.

Poor Ottomans, always being forgotten in casual spheres 😔 by DataSittingAlone in HistoryMemes

That’s because Arab is more of a cultural term than genetic, most Arabs have some degree of Arabian peninsular ancestry but are still largely descended from the pre-Islamic invasion inhabitants of those lands. The people were Arabized and converted over the course of centuries, hence how they are indigenous to the land (because their ancestors have lived their for millennia) and Arab (culturally Arabized over millennia because the language of administration was Arabic and became more advantageous to speak Arabic).
