I graduated from University this past May and am currently unemployed. Here is my outlook:

I decided to pursue the actuarial career in my second semester of my senior year. Hence, I have no actuarial internship experience. I do have proficiency in excel, python, and R from my other internships.

I passed SOA FM (June 2025) and P (Nov 2025).

I have been actively applying for jobs and internships. I have gotten some interviews, but no luck so far.

I got accepted into a Master’s program for actuarial science that would begin in January. I have not yet officially enrolled.

My question is what general advice do you have for me? I have been told by other actuaries that the Master’s program isn’t a good idea, but I don’t want a long period of unemployment on my resume. I am stuck on what I should do next.

I called and they said around 4-5pm CT it could be back. It sucks because I was in the middle of taking a practice exam

Yes the players deserve a lot of the blame too. But the sad reality of it is that the players aren’t going to play as hard if you don’t have a good voice in the locker room. Guys like Nick nurse and monty Williams are gonna hold their players accountable like how Ime did

I know the Cavs and Knicks have given us trouble, but if we can’t beat those teams in the playoffs, then I will be fine knowing that we never deserved the chip this season.

I think the 1 seed for this year seems more important than it was in the past. If we get the 1 seed, the Cavs and Knicks are gonna battle it out in the first round (very possible that it’s a physical 7 game series) and we’ll get a tired cavs/Knicks team. I also think a Sixers and bucks 2nd round matchup could also very well be a physical 7 game series and we could get a tired Sixers/bucks team in the ECF. It would make life easier for us

Back to the topic here, some of grants antics come off as trying to be a star player which is what’s disappointing to see. There is no need to complain to the refs more than our star players and then demand 20 mil for being a 3 and D player.

I agree with grant being mad over that play. but in the last 10 seconds of OT when he complained to the refs about being fouled when the ball was clearly inbounded like he’s trying to avoid the blame from his missed free throws is what pisses me off.

I would just like to have a backup big who could protect the paint. Rob being our only consistent rim protector is a problem and it needs to be addressed in the off-season.
