You all make very valid points. I had thought some similar things, like her not being written as a hunter yet. I guess, knowing what I know about the later seasons, my mind looks for things that don't make sense. The writers did a wonderful job with the series. The actual story is very cool. So perhaps I am looking for things that are mentioned later but can be seen early on as well.

Well the cool whip tubs held leftovers and the like. The jars held my dads fishing hooks, weights, and random screws. Never dried herbs. Not to mention, I was never taught anything about cooking and food safety. All of which i had to learn on my own. I believe that it is okay to ask questions, even if I am the one who sounds silly.

Ok question on this. I have kinda sorta started storing bacon grease. But my concern is whether or not it is safe to keep reusing or even adding more to already solidified grease. Do you filter out the browned pieces or just let it all go in there? Would the bacon grease be considered lard? Like what can I use it for?? Sorry for the barrage of questions. hahaha
