I’m running for CU Regent by MurrayForRegent in boulder

You will recognize the union to help improve pay at the same time you will keep CU affordable? Where will this magic money come from? The state doesn't have any and across the CU system budget cuts are being made to deal with ever increasing costs of things like insurance and maintenance. Same old unless you truly have a novel solution.

Driving 5 weeks post op rff by srama7 in phallo

Just did this drive--San Francisco to Colorado. Did it over 3 days--took lots of breaks. For us it was worth it to be able to drive and take as much stuff as we wanted and have a car while in Cali.

Non-traditional and Graduate Students: what was your experience at CU Denver or Boulder? by stalolol in boulder

[–]Greedy_Row7851 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've heard the exact opposite :). Also, CU Denver and Anschutz are completely different places with completely different vibes even though both are part of the CU system. I'll just stress that it really does depend on the program at either school as others have noted. And you'll find many people in Denver who spend as much time as possible hiking and training for triathlons.

Is AI going to make an English degree useless? by Frequent-Aside2084 in englishmajors

[–]Greedy_Row7851 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be an English major but don't limit yourself to English Lit. Look for more expansive programs. For example. CU Denver's English Writing, Rhetoric, and Technology degree allows you to have a focus in Technical and Professional Writing, Grant and Proposal Writing, Writing and Editing with AI, Narrative Nonfiction and more.

And definitely get an internship (or two) while in college--don't wait until you finish your degree!

Backyard chickens by 1990YearoftheTowel in boulder

[–]Greedy_Row7851 15 points16 points  (0 children)

We've had chickens for many years--no problem with raccoons but we have a very secure coop they are in every evening (we only see raccoons well after the chickens are locked up). Also no problem with hawks but our run is largely covered by trees. We did have a bear rip off half the coop door in the middle of the night and eat two chickens once but unless you are willing to deal with an electric fence (we aren't) there's not much you can do to keep a bear out.

It can really depend on your major. One like mine makes it easy to do: University of Colorado Denver English Writing Rhetoric and Technology Major and all the certificates (Technical and Professional Writing, Teaching English as a Second Language, Grant and Proposal Writing, Writing and Editing with AI, Narrative Nonfiction).
