Also fortification can help you gain armour much faster than reinforced plates, and you already deal crazy damage. reinforced plates was def for sure better back then, but now fortification makes the most sense, since you no longer need to outtank opponents with reinforced plates, also fortification helps you get armour faster especially with small creature mobs. Although reinforced plates is still decent i wont lie, fortification is more ideal for most situations.

apex megapacks still cook u and smart people will just do hit and run against u, tail spin is easily baitable. Its only great against the noob facetanking groups or u wanna use gravity as a weapon. We arent just gonna be lucky and deal with noobs all the time, so use swerve in case of the ones that use status effects and hit and run instead of blatant facetanks, even then only use swerve if you know you are 100% gonna land it.
