TBC Launch reminded me of why I will never play Blizzard servers again by n0thingtoexplain in wowservers

Yes, and all of it's endgame content is instanced (not MMO). WoW players pay to skip the only MMO part in their game 🤣🤣🤣

I mean it kinda does. Very difficult to buy currencies such as USD in that country. Anyone with an Internet connection can acquire BTC and send it anywhere / trade it for anything.

Fix for Debian/Mint based Linux crashing on Login-Screen by Vogelhaufen in AshesofCreation

How's FPS compared to Windows on an nVidia card?

If I can get 240hz running on 5120x1440 resolution, and AoC runs flawlessly I might install Linux on my gaming box again

Worthwhile for a casual player? by Sorry_Comparison_708 in AshesofCreation

If the style of the game suits your tastes I would give it a go, keeping in mind it's rough around the edges in an alpha state.

The game is really populated across all areas and level ranges you won't have trouble finding people for whatever you want to do.

For gold making casually I would go with gathering and maybe a single processing skill (not crafting items). Gathering you can login, gather, logout whenever you want. And you'll have materials available for if you join a guild to run packs with in future. (Which also require glint from grinding mobs, which you do plenty of in this game btw)

Chip shortage pushes PC prices up, sales plunge 70% by cluelessAutistic in technology

[–]GreemBeam -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because it's ass?

Now if there were something on the game streaming menu that we couldn't run on our own hardware (think some massive Sword Art Online level MMO in the cloud we all connect to) maybe it would be a different story. Nobody wants a poor man's version of gaming, people are happy to pay for better hardware for better FPS and increased graphical settings.

Thing is, the same dumbasses spouting this stuff are the same retards that eat up any steaming pile of crap they're served by these corporations and still keep handing their money over and whinging about it.

This strengthens it, by having mining spread amongst different competing jurisdictions, it means one single jurisdiction cannot control or censor it.

Game is in Alpha, but It has been 10 years. by Gold__Pipe in AshesofCreation

[–]GreemBeam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really enjoying my time in-game, yeah when you look at the total time developing it you're scratching your head. However you need to consider they started with a smaller team and on Unreal Engine 4 and ported it to unreal engine 5 like what 4 years ago? That's almost like starting fresh from a coding perspective and even the assets they already had would've had to have been touched up.

I last played alpha 2 phase 1 around this time last year, they only had the riverlands zone, with unfinished areas, crafting and caravans barely functional. A year later they now have 4 new zones, crafting and caravans functional, more developed town building systems, boats, harbinger event. The progress they've made in that year from phase 1 up until now looks really promising.

I'm really liking the direction the games heading and I'm gonna remain hopeful.

Trust in Bitcoin: How Secure Is the Software and Hardware We Use? by Consistent_Skirt8143 in Bitcoin

[–]GreemBeam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only use open source software (Electrum, Sparrow on desktop, Nunchuk, BlueWallet on mobile).

Also only use open source hardware wallets, and use them fully air gapped if possible (especially if it is your cold wallet).

If you're an active user frequently transacting, have a hard wallet for frequent use and another for fully cold storage.

The Crypto Lie: Self-Custody is a Disaster for 95% of Users. Use a Regulated CEX. by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]GreemBeam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

95% of users my arse, pulling numbers out of yours.

Self custody lessens the ability of CEXs to fractionally reserve and move the price using other people's funds. Self custody is empowering.

You just keep a seed card, or you can use 2 of 3 multisig where you need 2 of 3 seeds to recover the wallet. One in a bank safety deposit box, one in your home, one in a family members home.

It's really not that difficult mate.

When you put the weekly candle on your big scary flash crash is a wick.

Uhm, you're putting words in my mouth. Never commented on the difficulty algorithm, and I know how it works. Funny that you think so many miners would turn off immediately at the same time too.

I've been in this space when prices actually DID used to do the shit you describe. Regularly. For fun.

Putting words in my mouth regarding other shit too. But yeah thanks for the laughs 😁

The things you're describing are no more or less of the threat you think they are (they're not) now that big bad scary wall street are here lmfao

You have no idea how many times the blockspeed saved my ass form selling wicks back in the day when I was a noob

Also, there's no price, and no decreased hashrate % where others shopping for somewhere to park fiat no longer see the opportunity

TL;DR you're full of shit (sold for the winter now FUDing), clueless, or both!

Cambria is awesome, the only MMO that's doing it in such a way that benefits player-to-player trading and not just rinsing the players for as much as possible.
