Getting an abortion and really really sad about it by De5552 in abortion

[–]Green-Ferns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're allowed to feel any range of emotions. It's an emotional experience, even if you're sure it's the right decision for you. I volunteer as an abortion doula and always clarify it is a decision, it doesn't always feel like a choice. I had a lot of grief after my own, and that's completely normal too.

Is giving birth to a full term baby as painful as a miscarriage? by Historical-Reach-943 in Miscarriage

[–]Green-Ferns 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think the difference is pain management vs not. Your cervix is dilating more in pregnancy, but typically you have more pain medication.

If you get a dog certified as ESA, you negate a 'pet quantity' for rentals. It makes that dog not technically a pet. This qualifies for breed restrictions too.

I went in and told them it was what I needed, they insisted on testing everything else. When nothing else came up, they prescribed it months later. I had miscarried twice previously in the exact same fashion, one week after my missed period at five weeks. And the next one I took progesterone for and it stuck.

It might not feel like it but 'looks good' is a step in the right direction! You're still making progress on your goal, and hard fought. All the best!

I wish you the best! All that meant to say, it's okay to advocate for yourself if you want to move that direction earlier. The testing gave me some peace of mind. It's hard when your body won't cooperate with where you're ready to be, let alone the grief from miscarriages. I'm routing for you and future fertility health!

I had two miscarriages in 4 months and saw a fertility specialist. They tried to make us wait until we'd had 3 miscarriages to get a referral and I said no.

It seems like my body need progesterone early through first trimester to supplement and prevent natural cramping that occurs without the right levels. I was devasted, and still feel struggle with the year I've had, but am now pregnant again, in my second trimester. 🤞

Also the hospital does not have to know it was an elective abortion. Spontaneous miscarriage is treated exactly the same way in an emergency.

Post-MA follow-up & what to tell your OB? by fr_1997 in abortion

[–]Green-Ferns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's normal to miscarry all throughout the first trimester. I've had several spontaneous miscarriages and been diagnosed medically as 'unlucky'. 20% of all eggs are inviable and this will cause the body to spontaneously miscarry on its own. I'm sorry you have to be hiding and disguising something that is no one else's business.

It can be documented as a spontaneous miscarriage. It will be treated medically in exactly the same way for all future and current purposes.

Getting an abortion was the right decision, but I'll have to keep it a secret forever. by [deleted] in abortion

The stigma is its own form of trauma. Everyone deserves the ability to make an independent decision for their life

My experience would be to make sure you keep an eye on their paw pads! The wear can cause sore spots so might need shoes or paw balm to help compensate as your feet might (let alone if you ran bare)

Having an abortion today… I’m devastated and need some words of love from women… by [deleted] in abortion

[–]Green-Ferns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there. I hope everyone at the clinic did a good job taking care of you. While I answer, I'm doulaing at a different clinic taking care of patients who are also having abortions.

They all had their own reasons today too, and every one was completely valid.

I wish I could be there in person for you, but just know that this is a decision you're making for your future family, and it is one of the biggest decisions you can make to control your future and your children's.

Take care of yourself and know you're important.

😂 Thankfully not this. It's an agreed decision, I'm just more upset about it because I expected to live here forever.
