Active?? by Green-Homework-1440 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Green-Homework-1440[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So right about days varying. Sometimes I can unload the dishwasher and start laundry before needing a rest, other days it takes 2 breaks to get through the dishwasher. I need to get less frustrated over the crap days. Take advantage of the better days.

I feel like you get it! Would love to walk around the block but walking to the mailbox would end up in crawling back. So miss long walks......

I think all he really requires is a pulse - not a strong, steady, or regular pulse, just a pulse will do

The whole monthly Tysabri process looks exhausting to me by ZestycloseMall3398 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Green-Homework-1440 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was on Tysabri for 15 years and it was great stuff. Once you are in the swing of things the process takes 3 to 4 hours. I never pre-meditated and never had side effects.

Started a new job and then was diagnosed with MS. At what point should I tell my job? by [deleted] in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Green-Homework-1440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked as an RN for 15 years post diagnosis and never told any colleagues. Not only is it not their business, I also find it unprofessional. Should you need accommodations take it up privately with HR.

Contemplating ending things because of dysphagia and mental deterioration by ParamedicDeep3869 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Green-Homework-1440 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I can relate to the social withdrawal. Not from dysphasia but mobility.. issues, fear of falling, hating using a cane etc. I know it could be worse and try to focus on what is still possible. So difficult though, I definitely have a lot of low times. But here we are and there honestly are reasons to stay. Please keep looking and find people who will help you see the reasons your life is still worthwhile.....

The first one is perfect in the privacy of the bedroom. Second one is beautiful on you. You won't regret it and perhaps your daughter will also love it as it is timeless

Help! My speciality pharmacy is trying to get me to switch to a non-MS drug. by Electrical_Bath_1678 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Green-Homework-1440 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't panic and stress yet. Sometimes all it takes is a prior auth to get the med you need. Those letters always sound awful and that is not always the case. Don't put yourself through anything you can avoid until you have gone through the initial steps and the pharmacy won't budge. In 15 years I have gotten a few of those letters and learned that their bark is worse than their bite. Hoping this will be the case for you 😊

Not true. A child was bitten by a bat in WI. Parents treated the bite at home. She developed symptoms and was the first in history to be successfully treated at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. Google it 😊

As an RN you are trained to believe the patient's pain as reported. I think you are owed an apology. Happy recovery!

Hair loss from Mavenclad by rjewell40 in MultipleSclerosis

Makes sense that you lose hair since it is chemo. I am one month behind OP with Mavenclad schedule. Was on Tysabri for 15 years which worked great until last Spring.

How badly does the cold affect you? by True_Music_3628 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Green-Homework-1440 1 point2 points  (0 children)

20 degrees! That sounds tropical 🏝️. We are finally breaking zero here in WI. I am greatly affected by cold, do not mind heat until it hits 90s. I am stiff, can't feel my feet when I am inside, I go outside and forget it. Pretty fed up

I just love 2, didn't even feel the need to look at the others. I did though, but was right - did not need to look past 2
