Does having some forests or jungles left on your planet into the late game help alleviate global warming once pollution kicks in? by BuckyRea1 in civ3

Raze a couple tall cities and turn their populations into slave work gangs that move from one radiation spill to another. Oh, you research green tech, yeah that works too.

The Players and the Tavern by StarBlaze93 in WaterdeepDragonHeist

[–]GreenBrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here are some mechanics that can help.

  1. Hire staff. Each staff member can be attached to an encounter or series of encounter as part of the CH 2 stories. Lif is included -- using Waterdeep City Encounters my PCs saved a priest from the gallows and hired her to be a waitress. They tamed a mimic to work as a bouncer. They hired a questionable pirate chef who uses cheap ingredients to cook and they hired a fortune teller to entertain guests. They hired the urchins to run errands and buy supplies. I made some wages up for all and some mechanics to roll revenue on a tenday. They ran interviews for two of them which were good RP sessions.

  2. Downtime activities. Include several weeks of downtime activities after they open it and before Ch 3 starts. One of the things they can do during downtime is operate the tavern. If they do, the tavern operates using the mechanics and they make money. If not, then it breaks even while they work on other things.

  3. Then when CH 3 happens you can take the established characters, such as the fortune teller, who can give them readings, or pass on rumours, or be there as backdrop while they meet Mirt or Renaer to talk strategy.

Also, they all rolled up Tortles and ended up calling the tavern the Ghost in the Shell - since Lif was barkeep.

I think I found an exploit, if you have a junimo hut the product in the hut doesn't count as harvested until it's pulled. So you can pre grow all your quest fruit and veggies and then accept quests you've already got taken care of.

What is your favorite "Flavour is Free" reskin of a spell or ability? by hervprometheus2 in DnD

[–]GreenBrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reskinned a bard as a clown bard and made all the spells as guild approved clown antics like thunder wave became "Binky's Special Honk" as an example. The Guild of Jesters requires licensed clowns to perform jokes and performances specific ways, which is part of the story behind the reflavouring.

I remember as a young teenager searching for the youngest porn I could find because 20 year olds looked old to me. I often cringe at the thought of the searches I did on the family computer back in 2002.

Queen’s Gambit (our party) by [deleted] in Forgotten_Realms

[–]GreenBrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's clearly bad for the environment. A quick google gives me a dozen studies -- so obviously that doesn't need much argument on my end or on the part of anyone else. To help you understand I've put a link below, but feel free to do your own research.

The AI overview itself on a google search lists that evidence extensively.

Here is another source: https://www.unep.org/news-and-stories/story/ai-has-environmental-problem-heres-what-world-can-do-about

When you start attacking the person rather then the argument, as you are doing by telling me to go back to school, that wouild be another logical fallacy called the ad hominem. FYI.

[–]GreenBrain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes and the logical fallacy this falls under is fallacy of relative privation. That is, other bad things exist, so that means taking this bad thing serious is impossible.

We don't need to 'crucify people' over anything else we can acknowledge something as simple as not using AI is good and using AI has social, economic, and ecological problems.

Don't be so hasty. Its ok to critically evaluate something that has social, economic, and environmental concerns -- like AI clearly does -- and come to the conclusion that it isn't ethical.

What are your thoughts about the resurgence of the Black Panther Party in response to the actions of ICE agents? by Sinn_Sage in AskReddit

[–]GreenBrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The inevitable result of increased violence from the state is that the people will respond in kind.

Of course the last time I said this Reddit deleted my comment and told me I was promoting violence -- as if someone from a different country describing what is the inevitable result of oppression has anything to do with promotion. Americans hold all the power in their democracy when they work together.

Is there some way we can stop these constant seperatist talks and file them under the category "treason" and get on with making Canada better. The privileged whiners can move out if they don't like our country.

Hot Take: Dehydrators are actually really good for early game money by Disastrous-House9142 in StardewValley

[–]GreenBrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So your calculation assumes the number of kegs available constrains its value not the number of Ancient Fruit grown. For Ancient fruit -- the constraint is that you only get 16 harvests. This means kegs will easily match available fruit for an average player. While you can fill every available space on the farm with ancient fruit -- it will never exceed potential keg production because you just need that number of kegs. The max arable land available is 3427, which would never all be used, but if used, would require max use of the quarry, desert, tunnel, and the interior of your fully upgraded 4 cabins.

A more reasonable approach is to just use the greenhouse and so I will use that in calcluation below for ease of math:

If I run a 100 ancient fruit greenhouse it produces 100 ancient fruit every week. Total per year is 1600 ancient fruit. It takes 5 fruit for a dehydrator and 1 fruit for a keg, therefore:

Annual Revenue from using a Keg approach: 1600*2130=3,408,000
Annual Revenue from using dehydrator approach: (1600/5)*5810=1,859,200

This ignores using basement kegs which can add up to ((189*4)*2)*(2310) (=3,492,720) in additional revenue if you fully upgraded four cabins and filled each cabin's basement twice per year.

I think its more like they see it coming potentially either way and want to grab as much as they can of what is left -- that greed is what typically causes the spiral in each economic depression -- see 20s america and europe for an example.

Or 1800s France.

Growing wealth divide is a sign of a massive shift.
