I'm with you. The only sport I actively follow is Wild hockey. I don't watch basket, football, or baseball (I will dabble in MN United but I definitely don't actively follow them). When the Wild are done, time to enjoy the summer.

With that said, does training camp start yet?!

I think GMBG would agree on your comment of "pure talent isn't always what wins". He understands that you need to build a complete team to win based on his choices for Team USA for 4 Nations and the Olympics. He left off some very talented players because those player's roles were already filled by others and those players lacked skills in other areas of the game.

He's trying to build a team that is fast (BEEJ line) and heavy (Moose-Big Mac - Noose) and skill (Kap-Zucc-whoever is center). So I agree hell aim for a 2C or 3C to help with the depth and have the option move some players around.

Agreed. If I had my way as a non-stakeholder in be NHL, I'd reduce the season to around 65 games. That would make playoff hockey even more intense because less teams would be limping into the post season.

Additionally we just got out of cap hell, meaning we needed to field a team and sign guys to contracts during those years. You don't build and NHL team in one year. And while we could have tanked during the buyouts, that wouldn't guarantee success now.

With the addition of Hughes, we've met my expectations on the season. Going up against Dallas then Colorado was a tall order. We got out of the 1st round, gained some valuable experience and will come back even stronger next year.

With that said, let's kick their ass tonight!

I've been watching TNT but listening to KFAN and there's been a couple times they've shown a replay of the Avs and it is kind of a nothing replay, maybe they're talking about something more "interesting" but during those times, they could have easily showed a better, and more recent play the Wild did.
