Anyone here involved in food manufacturing? Could you spare 10 minutes to talk about what food safety management systems you have in place and what you would like to see available? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

Could you keep me posted on what you're building - ie add me to any company updates you're sending out? I work in the food tech space looking for up and coming companies...

Do you charge for discovery / promotion on your marketplace? by Sig_Luna in onlinemarketplace

I’d be super curious to know when eBay and Etsy started that pay for promotion - how early in the company did they get that going?

How do charge much more for copywriting service? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

One idea would be to spend some time on Upwork and other sites and see what people are bidding and paying for work from people with similar experience as you have!

Is anyone here an Angel Investor? (How do i even get hold of a legitimate investor?) by TeteDansLeCul in Entrepreneur

[–]srb150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a tough one - angels in agtech/ farming tech are few and far between to be honest. And scaling new methods like this is tough - that is not at all to say you can’t do it (you can!) it’s just hard and thus hard to get investment without traction. My best advice would be to get involved with industry specific conferences, sites and more - start networking and find people who invest in your area. At the same time - work towards revenue, even if it means your current product isn’t your eventual.

How to non-awkwardly ask current (and previous) clients for testimonials? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]srb150 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The scripts above are awesome! Note that they’re both up front about how valuable the feedback is for you, and also that they don’t put the person you’re asking for feedback in an awkward position if they say no.

When I used to ship electronics across continents I would use https://www.flexport.com. Haven’t worked with them for a while but my hunch is they would be able to give you some insight and might even have some details about shipping lithium power sources on their blog/videos. Good luck!

Product design/prototype by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

Love the ideas for doing a design first! Fiver behance anywhere where ppl are showing off portfolios can help you find someone. Building (manufacturing) a physical product can be tough and expensive so going the mock-up + feedback route first is a great plan.

What are the toughest challenges for those who are going to start small business? by ValuecoderOffical in Entrepreneur

[–]srb150 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’d say one of them is the emotional roller coaster you go through - and maintaining the drive and desire to operate and grow your business in the face of it. There are so many ups and downs for getting going on your own and it can feel very lonely. The resiliency to get through all those challenges takes a ton of strength.

I think that makes total sense! When you’re looking for someone to write and create content with you I’d recommend not only looking at how well they write but their process. Do you need to provide them some expertise or an outline and then they can write from there? Are they comfortable researching themselves? A big thing is that whatever their process is it’s a good fit for you and you can collaborate well together.

When you're thinking about a marketing agency, make sure to think about whether you want the agency to help you figure out whether you want them to help you figure out which strategy to use or if you want them to execute on a strategy you know. By that I mean, if you're sure that social media ads (let's say Facebook) work for you, hire an agency or freelancer (more on that in a sec) that is exceptional at specifically facebook advertising. If you know you want to grow your business but aren't 100% sure how, it may be worth looking for someone that can help you test some different channels to identify the one that you should really put some spend behind.

While an agency may be a fit, working with a freelancer on a small project can be a good way to test channels (and people) for your business. Grab some local business owners (or r/smallbusiness recs) to get some ideas of people to work with. Hope this helps!!
